MDM Product Owner (SQL)
Job Description
Gartner’s Chief Data and Analytics Office is hiring an MDM Product Owner for Master Data Management, supporting enterprise and account customer data domains. This role helps shape the product direction that engineering teams will deliver, with a focus on process improvements, data management, and initiatives aligned to business priorities.

What you’ll do
- Define and maintain alignment on product vision, roadmap, and strategy with business stakeholders.
- Convert problem statements, customer needs, and solution hypotheses into user stories and requirements, including clear acceptance criteria and measurable success metrics.
- Build a deep understanding of business goals and processes to guide product priorities and improvement recommendations through strong stakeholder relationships.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical architects and development teams to build capabilities and solutions that achieve business outcomes.
- Analyze data quality and curate insights to help drive requirements that increase business value.
- Lead and run backlog refinement to keep a clearly defined, prioritized backlog of features and stories.
- Continuously refine and prioritize backlog items by balancing business value, technical feasibility, long-term product strategy, and team dependencies.
- Support scrum master and development teams by navigating development roadblocks.
- Work with QA teams to review test scenarios, ensure acceptance criteria are met, and support sign-off on product design.
- Ensure quality by supporting and adhering to established processes, including maintaining documentation on shared file systems.
What you bring
- 5+ years of product management experience with demonstrated success defining, building, and maintaining products.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects/products and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and facilitation.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking.
- Strong SQL skills and a basic understanding of data analysis tools and techniques.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to present complex topics concisely to a variety of stakeholders, including senior leaders.
