Job Description
Applied Materials is seeking a Photonics Product Design Lead to drive the development of AR waveguide displays from its Santa Clara campus. This on-site, full-time position centers on photonics product design and chip design validation, with a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration to bring sophisticated optical technologies to market. A successful candidate will demonstrate leadership across multiple tape-outs and navigate complex IC design challenges with minimal supervision, coupling technical depth with clear communication to internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Bring deep expertise in at least one area while maintaining a broad understanding of overall chip design and silicon validation, with a proven track record of delivering multiple tape-outs.
- Leverage domain knowledge to proactively address issues within own specialty and related areas during specific design phases.
- Translate concepts into practical solutions to troubleshoot a range of complex problems across the IC design process without direct supervision in the area of expertise.
- Communicate technical material effectively, both verbally and in writing, representing the organization with limited supervision and collaborating with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
- Maintain adherence to complex program schedules, budgets, and milestones with minimal supervision.
- Participate in cross-functional discussions to resolve interdisciplinary technical issues in a collaborative environment.
Requirements
