Product Design Manager - Experience Design Team

The role sits in New York City, with a competitive salary range of USD 149,800 to 205,100 per year, reflecting the level of impact and leadership expected. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence product direction while working closely with cross-functional partners to solve complex problems at scale.
Responsibilities
- Role focus: blend design craft with leadership, grounded in user needs and business priorities, to co-create innovative solutions and guide product strategy.
- Product Design Expertise: demonstrate mastery across interaction, visual, and service design; in collaboration with partners, select appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems, producing artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
- Leadership: lead design projects, delegate to junior team members, cultivate strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders, and mentor the design practice to maturity.
- Human-Centered: balance partner needs with data, insights, scalability, and technical constraints to ensure customer-centered and inclusive design outcomes.
- Business-Focused: apply insights on customers, competitors, and market trends to business challenges, shaping a shared point of view for the team and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: bring knowledge of tech and data capabilities to inform work, helping the team move faster while navigating technical constraints to deliver impactful solutions.
- Collaboration: leverage a broad network across lines of business to foster collaboration, incorporate diverse perspectives, and drive product strategy.
- Communication: present work to diverse audiences using a human-centered approach that combines design frameworks, data, and research insights to influence senior-level decisions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a Product Design role
- At least 5 years of experience using design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- At least 6 years of experience in a Product Design role
- At least 6 years of experience using design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Experience working with and contributing to an established design system
- Experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners
- Experience leading design projects or teams
- Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces
