Job Description

The Product Manager at Oldcastle APG in Knoxville, TN (hybrid) will lead product planning and lifecycle execution, collaborating with engineering, sales, channel marketing and production to drive profitable growth and market share for each product category.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead product manager from concept ideation through completion for the assigned projects.
  • Partner with sales, customers and internal teams to craft new product development strategies for the assigned category, aligning with directors and sales leads before launch.
  • Contribute to the creation of new product development roadmaps by category.
  • Prepare project briefs and scope documents to clearly define new product development initiatives.
  • Guide cross functional teams through development, engineering, costing, pricing, manufacturing, planning and marketing for all new product introductions and updates to existing lines; support the full setup of the new product development process.
  • Monitor market conditions to position pricing by channel; determine pricing strategies for retail accounts and review with the business unit manager; recommend pricing across channels and secure review by the business unit manager.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle for each category, deciding when to phase in or phase out products; collaborate with sales and production planning to execute transitions.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to manage excess and obsolete products.
  • Maintain the product database and serve as the product expert on competitive dynamics.
  • Work with manufacturing and product development to establish initial product specifications; support quality control and warranty teams in resolving major quality issues for both new and existing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in sales (inside or outside), operations, product development, or related roles.
  • Proficiency with basic business software, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Curiosity and drive to learn all aspects of the product development process.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 35%.
