Product Manager
Job Description
PPL Services Corporation is hiring a Product Manager to help shape an enterprise product vision and translate it into digital solutions that serve internal and external customers. This hybrid role focuses on aligning teams around high-value business outcomes while partnering closely with engineering and design across discovery and delivery.
Role overview
The Product Manager owns the enterprise product vision and guides prioritization through discovery, backlog management, and roadmap execution. You will study business, users, and customers, validate problems and opportunities with qualitative and quantitative data, and ensure risks to value, viability, feasibility, and usability are addressed early.
Responsibilities
- Own the product vision for the enterprise and align your team around delivery of high-value business outcomes.
- Develop and maintain discovery and delivery backlogs, roadmaps, and prioritized problem statements.
- Study business needs, user behavior, customer needs, pain points, and business constraints, including observing what users do to uncover insights.
- Use qualitative and quantitative, data-driven methods to shape priorities and feature definitions.
- Mine multiple data sources to validate problems and opportunities for solutioning and ensure the team is solving the right problems.
- Collaborate with engineering and design during discovery to identify and validate solutions to prioritized problems, addressing risks up front.
- Serve as Product Owner on scrum delivery teams, working with engineering and design to resolve in-sprint issues and challenges.
- Directly supervise Product Analysts and lead their growth through coaching and support.
- Drive product success at the enterprise level by supporting user adoption and collaborating with stakeholders and other technology and product teams to maximize business value.
- Align stakeholders across the enterprise on strategies, manage conflict, and maintain transparent prioritization of needs and roadmap status.
- Work with the product team and portfolio leader to define and align product team OKRs.
- Perform analysis on technical, operational, and market considerations for new product development and differentiation.
- Act as the voice of the product(s) to senior management and stakeholders.
- Build deep business domain expertise to identify opportunities to improve or expand digital capabilities aligned with strategy.
- Identify emerging market and technology needs.
- May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role, including work after-hours during storms and other emergencies that impact customer service.
- Comply with all policies and standards, and perform other duties as assigned.
Location and work arrangement
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days on-site at a local office: Allentown, PA, Louisville, KY, or Providence, RI. The company reserves the right to determine whether the position is on-site, remote, or a combination of both, and the assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence may be required for face-to-face interaction and coordination with direct reports and coworkers.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of related work experience
- 3+ years leadership experience with cross-functional teams
- Experience leading product and/or process improvements
