Job Description

Product Manager 2 role on Principal Financial Group’s Engineering Experience and Enablement (EXE) team, building an AI-native product delivery life cycle with trusted, Principal-specific expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Use experimentation, analytics, and user research to identify opportunities and prioritize high-value initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technical and delivery leads to shape and evolve the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Track product performance, make data-driven decisions, and iteratively adjust the product to meet enterprise needs.
  • Work with leaders across technology areas as stakeholders, advocates, and users of EXE products to advance the EXE vision.
  • Support and mentor other product managers by sharing best practices to strengthen a high-performing product culture.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in business, technology, or product management, or equivalent demonstrated via work experience, military experience, or education.
  • Proven experience managing 1 or multiple products.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking, collaborate effectively, and make decisions in a product environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple workloads and/or competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and building strong relationship management in product settings.
  • Experience leading, influencing, and negotiating in a product environment.
  • Experience using diverse perspectives and leveraging customer, user, or partner data and insights to guide decisions and actions.
  • 2+ years working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with engineering teams and stakeholders.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $110,200 - $156,000 per year
  • Des Moines, IA: $110,200 - $148,200 per year
  • Charlotte, NC: $116,000 - $156,000 per year
  • Raleigh, NC: $$116,000 - $156,000 per year

Location and Work Environment

  • Des Moines, IA (hybrid)
  • Hybrid expectation: blending at least three office days in a typical workweek
