Product Manager - Retail
Job Description
Based in Appleton, Wisconsin, this on-site Product Manager - Retail role oversees the full lifecycle of welding solutions sold through retail and e-commerce channels. The position drives growth by fostering retailer partnerships and leading cross-functional efforts across product, sales, and marketing. A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ product management experience are required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct market research to define market size, growth, and trends, including pricing, competitive dynamics, and opportunities.
- Gather and synthesize customer insights (VOC) and competitive intelligence through interviews, market analyses, and channel knowledge.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the end-user's business and their unmet needs.
- Assess customer and market expectations and define a product strategy that aligns with the needs of customers, distributors, sales, and the division.
- Contribute to long-range and annual planning processes.
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans for assigned product platforms to expand the business.
- Improve profitability and drive growth through cost reductions and pricing adjustments, while optimizing the category's value proposition.
- Craft clear value propositions for each proposed product along with estimated market potential.
- Provide pricing recommendations that position products to win in the market while preserving margins.
- Monitor and report on product performance, including sales volume, margins, and market share.
- Oversee the successful launch and commercialization of new products.
- Apply creative tactics to communicate and promote new products to end users and retailers.
- Serve as the liaison between sales, engineering, manufacturing and other division teams to deliver market-leading product solutions.
