Product Manager, Water Controls
Job Description
The Water Controls Product Manager role at Infiltrator Water Technologies is focused on strengthening product leadership in the Onsite Wastewater market. This position leads the identification and development of new alarm and control products, manages the water controls product category lifecycle, and collaborates across teams to support planning, launches, training, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute market research projects to establish voice of the customer, segment the market, and identify innovation and growth targets to increase market share.
- Translate market needs into clear direction for internal engineering and R&D teams to develop differentiated offerings that encourage customer selection.
- Continuously evaluate cost position and margin returns for assigned products and partner with manufacturing to maintain target costs, positions, and availability.
- Deliver formal and informal product training for sales associates and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed product plans for assigned products, including target markets, value proposition, technical details, and marcomm plans.
- Serve as the product category expert to support field sales activities, including product demonstrations, promotions, and functional, installation, and operational training.
- Provide technical support for field issues, including advanced troubleshooting support remotely or in the field for managed products.
- Support field sales with performance verification testing for products in the managed category.
- Coordinate product quality case reviews by researching product quality issues received by the department, identifying issues, and prioritizing design-related cases for joint Engineering and Manufacturing review.
- Attend industry trade shows to showcase products, convey value to attendees, and deliver presentations that support industry leadership.
- Support development of product documents and marketing assets.
- Work closely with internal sales, marketing, finance, government relations, technical services, engineering, and manufacturing teams to execute product launch plans aligned to business strategy.
- Work in the field with customers and sales staff to provide training and support.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum experience: 3+ years.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical or Marketing field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of the onsite wastewater industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of motor control and monitoring systems.
- Experience or understanding of regulated business environments.
- Experience in a market-driven product environment.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems.
- Proven track record planning and prioritizing target-based business goals.
- Experience working closely with customers in a technical environment.
- Ability to travel approximately 10% to 25%.
- Ability to learn new products quickly.
