Job Description
The role directs the Ghost Product Operations function, advancing field failure discovery, mitigation, and resolution across the Ghost fleet. It emphasizes root-cause analysis, rapid fixes, and telemetry-driven improvements to sustain deployments, with the position based in Costa Mesa, CA.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Ghost Product Operations team by blending insight into customer missions with deep knowledge of our products and capabilities.
- Oversee triage, diagnosis, root cause analysis, and management of product incidents, driving postmortem actions and maintaining visibility for internal and external stakeholders throughout resolution.
- Collaborate with engineering to convert incidents into systemic reliability enhancements, including leveraging a team for telemetry review and diagnostics support, and guiding the use of Linux and command line tools for system management and containment.
- Continuously assess and elevate the fleet's observability and health telemetry in partnership with multiple Ghost team functions.
- Gather, organize, and analyze failure data to identify trends, support proactive sustainment processes, and inform resource allocation decisions.
- Support global customers through proactive communication and precise execution, tracking customer-facing incidents and concerns to ensure timely response, mitigation, and clear resolution updates.
- Evaluate and enhance product capabilities by analyzing customer feedback to define capability requirements, performance indicators, and desired functionality.
- Maintain current knowledge of product specifications and facilitate understanding between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Coordinate technical and non-technical efforts across multiple business, engineering, and sustainment functions, influencing decisions to maximize end-user capability availability.
- Mentor and guide the team by setting goals, providing direction, and iterating on processes and standards to achieve scalable sustainment operations.
- Travel as needed to support customer needs and operations.
Requirements
- BA/BS or equivalent practical experience, with 6+ years in hardware product operations, sustainment, or related technical operations roles.
- Proven self-starter able to identify and resolve issues with minimal guidance.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude in unstructured environments at the interface of hardware, software, and networking, capable of guiding vague technical problems to clarity and resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to master a technical system and support it in operational settings, with a drive to be self-sufficient across the system’s depth and breadth.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and creating new approaches to execution.
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience guiding and mentoring a team, setting goals, providing direction, and iterating on processes and standards.
- This position is onsite in Costa Mesa, CA; remote work is not offered.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security clearance; prior clearances or background investigations are a plus.
