Based in Dallas, Texas with a hybrid work model, Bain & Co offers a role that prioritizes collaboration, growth, and measurable impact within the PEG PE due diligence platform. You will lead cross-functional squads spanning Engineering, Design, and AI partnerships, guiding the product from discovery to delivery while keeping analysts and partners focused on real outcomes. This position emphasizes structured roadmapping, rigorous measurement, and ongoing learning to drive meaningful improvements.

- 401(k) plan with employer contribution (4.5% initially; increases after 3 years; fully vested upon start date)
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance paid by Bain for the employee
- Paid time off including parental leave, sick leave, and paid holidays
- Life and Long-Term Disability insurance
- Annual fitness reimbursements
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap and backlog for a defined product area such as Deal Screening, Due Diligence workflows, Portfolio Monitoring, or Report Builder; set outcomes, milestones, and sequencing.
- Lead ongoing discovery with analysts, associates, and partners to surface high-value problems, validate hypotheses, and translate findings into delivery work.
- Write and maintain epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria to enable autonomous squad delivery; ensure work is testable, measurable, and aligned to user outcomes.
- Define success metrics and instrumentation for features; ensure baselines and post-release measurement plans are established.
- Make prioritisation trade-offs across scope, quality, risk, and time to keep the squad focused on the highest-impact outcomes.
- Collaborate with Engineering to shape feasible technical approaches and manage dependencies across platform services, data contracts, and AI integrations.
- Partner with Design to ensure user experience quality, accessibility, and edge-case handling are addressed early; align on iterative delivery plans.
- Own release readiness for your scope, including stakeholder communications, enablement materials, change notes, and rollout strategy.
- Drive post-release learning by analyzing adoption and performance, conducting outcome reviews, and iterating based on evidence.
- Lead squad ceremonies from a product perspective: refinement, planning input, review facilitation, and outcome-focused retrospectives.
- Act as the primary interface for your product area with cross-functional partners (Security, Data Governance, Platform Engineering, Data Platform, Agent/AI) to align requirements early.
- Establish and maintain a clear Definition of Done for product outcomes with Engineering and QA, covering quality, observability, documentation, and operational readiness.
- Utilize AI tooling to accelerate PRD drafting, stakeholder synthesis, and prioritisation artifacts; apply editorial judgment and validate facts before sharing.
- Support hiring, interviewing, and mentoring of Product Analysts/Associate PMs where applicable; promote product practice standards through coaching.
- Own an outcome-driven roadmap with clear OKRs and measurable impact; sequence work pragmatically to maintain focus on delivery value.
- Ensure requirements excellence with well-defined PRDs, stories, and acceptance criteria; anticipate edge cases and ensure testability.
- Exercise disciplined prioritisation by making explicit trade-offs among user value, delivery risk, quality, and operations.
- Provide cross-functional leadership across Engineering, Design, Data Platform, and Platform teams; manage dependencies without surprise work.
- Engage in product analytics to design KPIs, measure adoption, and interpret signals to inform decisions.
- Communicate with concise, structured updates for executives and maintain clear decision logs; facilitate stakeholder discussions.
- Understand user-facing implications of AI features and embed constraints related to non-determinism, latency, and context limits into requirements.
- Collaborate with the Agent / AI squad to define evaluation-ready requirements and ensure regression gates for changes.
- Apply AI tooling to accelerate PRDs, OKRs, prioritisation drafts, and stakeholder communications while validating accuracy.
- Ensure AI features meet safety and data-handling requirements by coordinating with Security and Governance early on.
- Build for real analyst outcomes by deeply understanding PE workflows and prioritising user value over internal convenience.
- Communicate with clarity to reduce ambiguity and drive aligned, evidence-based decisions across squads.
- Measure results post-release and iterate based on evidence, balancing speed with accountability for decisions and artifacts.
- This role requires in-office presence at least 1 day per week in a hybrid work model.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 6+ years of product management, product ownership, business analysis, consulting, or product strategy experience delivering software in production environments.
- Proven track record owning a backlog and leading cross-functional delivery with prioritisation and dependency management.
- Ability to translate ambiguous stakeholder needs into well-scoped epics and stories with measurable outcomes and acceptance criteria.
- Experience using data to inform decisions: defining KPIs, interpreting dashboards, and driving iteration based on evidence.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate trade-offs, progress, and outcomes to senior leaders.
Compensation
