Product Owner
Job Description
Join a hybrid team in Saint Paul, MN as a Product Owner with Robert Half. This contract role (USD 50 to 60 per hour) is built for experienced product leaders who enjoy guiding cross-functional Agile delivery and driving day-to-day product execution. You will help shape priorities, keep the backlog in strong working order, and coordinate business and technical teams to deliver solutions aligned with business goals and user needs.
What you’ll do
- Own and continuously refine the product backlog so upcoming work remains organized, actionable, and connected to strategic priorities.
- Translate business needs into product deliverables such as epics, features, and user stories, including clear acceptance criteria for delivery teams.
- Partner with stakeholders to review incoming requests, balance competing demands, and establish ordering based on value and impact.
- Collaborate across product leadership, analysts, Scrum team members, developers, and quality teams through the full delivery process.
- Act as the primary coordination point between business partners and technical teams to support requirement discovery, solution review, and shared understanding.
- Participate in core Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support development with ongoing guidance by answering questions, validating completed work, and ensuring outcomes meet expectations.
- Monitor delivery progress and help address risks, dependencies, and blockers, including priority conflicts that could impact execution.
- Use metrics, stakeholder input, and operational insights to influence product improvements, prioritization, and future enhancements.
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a closely related product management role.
- Proven success supporting software delivery teams in Agile Scrum environments.
- Strong expertise in backlog management, backlog grooming, and translating business objectives into actionable work items.
- Ability to create product artifacts including user stories, features, epics, and acceptance criteria.
- Proficiency with Agile delivery and tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Comfort working with technical teams, business stakeholders, and cross-functional partners in a hybrid setting.
- Strong communication, prioritization, and decision-making skills with a focus on delivering measurable business value.
