Job Description

The Product Owner role for Optum Bank focuses on delivering intuitive, seamless financial services experiences for consumers and providers within the healthcare environment. This position defines and brings product features to market using agile product management and coordinates across internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define product features and requirements while applying agile product management principles to develop financial products and offerings that are simple and intuitive for complex healthcare financial services needs.
  • Partner with a broad stakeholder matrix across areas such as treasury, finance, credit, underwriters, engineering, and other business groups throughout ideation, specification, design, test, launch, and deployment.
  • Provide partner and stakeholder input for project and planning activities, including impact identification, prioritization definition, effort estimation, and solution development.
  • Capture and manage requirements, prioritize features, support UAT activities, and oversee delivery of roadmap items and functional releases.
  • Manage external vendors to drive enhancements, backlog work, and defect resolution.
  • Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to address them.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with core banking platforms, transaction processing (including ACH, wires, and debit card), and banking regulations.
  • 3+ years of product ownership experience with advanced understanding of agile product development methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience with financial services products, applications, and banking systems.
  • 3+ years of experience using SLDC tools such as aha, Jira, and confluence.
  • 3+ years of experience working with application systems, with high proficiency in product requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Knowledge and experience with technical solutions including batch processes, APIs, and Kafka events.
  • Proven ability to organize a backlog of clearly defined user stories and prioritize effectively to support targeted delivery dates.

Compensation

USD 91,700 - 163,700 per year
