Technology Product Owner (ACH & Real Time Payments)

Zions Bancorporation is seeking a Technology Product Owner to drive product vision and execution for teams supporting the ACH and Real Time Payments platforms. In this onsite role in Midvale, UT, you will act as the customer proxy in an agile environment, shaping priorities, clarifying requirements, and helping ensure delivery aligns with business intent.

What you’ll do

• Create, own, prioritize, and manage the team backlog, collaborating continuously with product management, business stakeholders, and the team to keep work refined and ranked.
• Develop detailed product feature specifications and make sure development teams clearly understand the intended outcomes.
• Lead and participate in key team ceremonies including iteration planning, refinement, demos, and retrospectives, serving as the primary proxy for customer and business needs.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, prioritize enabling work that protects team velocity, and accept stories against strict acceptance criteria and customer intent.
• Actively work to mitigate roadblocks that could affect successful completion of release and sprint goals.
• Engage business, technology, and product management stakeholders to translate incoming features and broader visions into actionable, well-defined requirements.
• Lead analysis and implementation of business systems by creating proposals for new processes, gathering requirements, and designing user acceptance test plans aligned to end-user needs.

Requirements

• 6+ years of proven experience driving strategic product creation, accelerating value delivery, and using innovative product development practices (for example MVP, lean startup, design-thinking).
• Demonstrated success as a Product Owner in a large enterprise environment, using scaling practices to deliver complex, cross-functional solutions.
• Exceptional facilitation, decision-making, and communication skills, including the ability to confidently present to leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business, computer science, or related field, along with 4+ years’ experience contributing to strategic product creation and building, accelerating value delivery to customers, working with cross-functional teams, and applying innovative mindsets and practices to product development (design-thinking, lean startup approach, MVP, rapid prototyping, frequent feedback cycles, customer centricity). A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
• Experience with JIRA, Azure Dev Ops (ADO), Confluence, or similar tools (preferred).
• Product Owner certification (strongly preferred).
• Financial Product Owner experience (preferred).
