Product Owner – Product Master Data Management (MDM)

Global Information Technology is hiring a Product Owner to drive Product Master Data Management (MDM) in a hybrid contract position based in Pittsburgh, PA. This role centers on shaping the product backlog, translating business needs into clear requirements, and supporting MDM, data governance, and data quality efforts across Agile delivery.

Working with business and technology teams, you will help maintain alignment between stakeholders and execution, while supporting the end-to-end product flow from backlog definition through UAT, release planning, and post-production activities.

What you’ll do

• Own and prioritize the product backlog in Jira.
• Gather and analyze business requirements to inform product decisions.
• Write user stories and define acceptance criteria for delivery.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT, data governance, procurement, and product teams.
• Support Product MDM, data governance, and data quality initiatives.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and PI Planning.
• Improve business processes, workflows, and product data management.
• Support UAT, release planning, and post-production activities.

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong experience with Product Master Data Management (MDM).
• Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodologies.
• Strong working knowledge of Jira for backlog management.
• Proven ability to write user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of product data, data governance, and data quality.
• Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, Informatica MDM, Reltio, PLM, or PIM.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.

Preferred skills
