Product Owner/Sr. Product Owner

Senior Product Owner for the ERMS legacy systems, based onsite in Red Bank, NJ, responsible for agile product ownership, stakeholder engagement, backlog management, and delivering improvements aligned with IT roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders across upstream and downstream systems to understand business priorities and how legacy applications and workflows are utilized.
• Own strategic stakeholder engagement for assigned areas, applying deep knowledge of business processes and system constraints.
• Adopt and apply agile best practices to maintain and enhance legacy systems, balancing stability with incremental improvements.
• Make prioritization decisions for the product backlog and lead release planning.
• Document stories and epics effectively to capture business needs and desired outcomes.
• Refine and maintain product backlogs, rank user stories, and define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and requirements.
• Partner with architects to translate business strategies into practical solutions within the limitations of existing systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency.
• Drive delivery of scalable solutions aligned with IT roadmaps and portfolio budgets.
• Collaborate with Operations to ensure legacy systems continue to support functions without disruption.
• Support User Acceptance Testing, regression testing, and training initiatives for updates or transitions involving legacy systems.
• Support technology and process transformation efforts for the US and Bermuda regions.
• Measure product performance and value delivery using KPIs and metrics tied to business outcomes.
• Ensure prioritization aligns with the IT investment roadmap and budgetary goals.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and Enterprise teams to maintain conceptual and technical integrity across the portfolio.
• Champion customer-centric outcomes by prioritizing features that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Ensure product changes adhere to regulatory and compliance standards.
• Stay aware of emerging technologies and industry best practices to inform product strategy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of insurance experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in technology or operations.
• Ability to manage multiple and multi-faceted stakeholders.
• Solution-oriented, creative thinker with strong analytical skills.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and product management practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentation.
• Ability to translate strategic goals into actionable business requirements.
• High ethical standards, professionalism, and a commitment to compliance and integrity.
• Flexible, adaptable, and resilient in dynamic environments.
• Financial and business acumen to align product decisions with organizational goals.
• Track record of reporting on continuous improvement metrics and modernization impact.
• US work authorization is required.
