Senior Product Manager
Job Description
Home Depot / THD is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join the Specialty Selling organization onsite in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on assessing market needs, inspiring cross functional product teams, and delivering omnichannel value that bridges digital and in store journeys. The aim is to drive sales, boost efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction through a thoughtful, data informed product strategy.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of end users to identify the fastest path to delivering value.
- Translate business goals and user needs into a clear product strategy and priorities; communicate direction to the development team, matrixed groups, and external partners.
- Define success metrics and analytics, and continually refine the backlog based on insights and learnings.
- Groom the product backlog and make decisions about future work based on delivered value.
- Collaborate with Finance to understand financial needs and help create business plans for new opportunities.
- Monitor research and the competitive landscape to recommend best in class solutions.
- Balance user needs with business goals to drive sales, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Formulate hypotheses, test them through user research, and refine based on results.
- Document and ensure adherence to quality and change control standards.
- Create, prioritize, and accept user stories and incorporate them into release planning.
- Make daily product decisions that unlock value for customers and the business.
- Evaluate pros, cons, issues, dependencies, and overall value of features and enhancements.
- Participate in standups, iteration planning, product demos, and retrospectives.
- Translate complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration with Engineering, UX, and other team members to drive value and remove impediments.
- Advocate for modern software development practices and the end user alike.
- Engage with the product to continuously assess progress, share lessons learned, and identify next steps.
- Manage cross functional expectations and educate requestors on prioritization based on tangible benefits and user experience.
- Mentor junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution activities.
- Contribute to learning communities around modern software design and development practices.
- Support talent acquisition, development, and retention initiatives for the team.
Requirements
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
- Minimum three years of relevant work experience.
Direct Manager / Direct Reports
Typically reports to the Product Management Manager or Senior Manager.
Travel Requirements
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10 percent of the time.
Physical Requirements
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move. Occasional light lifting may be required.
Working Conditions
Located in a comfortable indoor environment. Unpleasant conditions are infrequent and not objectionable.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 to 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience as a Product Manager in a modern software development based enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with modern software development product management practices and agile methodologies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, fluid environment where priorities shift.
- Strong communication and influence skills across functional and technical teams at all levels.
- Experience working as part of a cross functional, modern software design and development team.
- Proficiency in creating, prioritizing, and accepting user stories.
- Experience conducting user research and testing to uncover needs.
