Senior Product Manager
Job Description
Datacenter People is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own and drive medium voltage product families across the full product lifecycle. This role spans roadmap creation and customer requirement gathering through product definition, launches, performance tracking, and ongoing competitive and market analysis. You will also serve as a key SME and cross-functional bridge across Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to keep priorities aligned and delivery execution consistent.
What you’ll do
- Own assigned medium voltage product families end to end, supporting current engineered-to-order offerings while progressing toward configurable and productized solutions.
- Develop and maintain the medium voltage product roadmap, balancing custom project demands with standardization and platform development strategies.
- Translate voice of the customer (VOC) into clear product requirements, partnering with Engineering to define solutions that are feasible and scalable.
- Act as a primary subject matter expert for medium voltage switchgear, power distribution, controls, protection, and related critical power infrastructure.
- Bridge Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to align on product definition, priorities, and delivery of new products and features.
- Support the transition from project-based execution to repeatable product structures, including CTO, modular design, and standard work.
- Drive product definition, including configurations, options, BOM structures, and documentation needed for scalable execution.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams to improve manufacturability, execution consistency, and field performance.
- Support strategic sales opportunities through customer engagement, solution development, technical presentations, and product positioning.
- Participate in key customer interactions, shaping solutions for strategic opportunities and supporting executive-level discussions as needed.
- Support product launches, including marketing data, sales alignment, pricing, collateral, and internal training.
- Manage product performance, tracking revenue, margin, win/loss trends, market adoption, and actions to improve business outcomes.
- Conduct competitive, market, and technology analysis to identify portfolio gaps, growth opportunities, and positioning strategies.
- Identify and evaluate new medium voltage product opportunities, technologies, and partnerships that support Kratos’ long-term growth strategy.
- Contribute to long-term product strategy, including platform development and portfolio rationalization.
- Support S&OP and forecasting activities to align demand, supply, and product strategy.
What you bring
- 8+ years of experience in product management, engineering, applications engineering, power systems, operations, or a related field.
- Strong preference for experience in medium voltage power distribution, switchgear, data centers, utilities, industrial power systems, or engineered electrical systems.
- Preference for experience in project-based or engineered-to-order environments.
- Strong plus: exposure to product standardization, modular design, or configure-to-order models.
- Preference: experience supporting customer-facing technical discussions and strategic sales opportunities.
- Ability to translate customer needs into structured product definitions.
- Strong knowledge of medium voltage power distribution systems, switchgear, controls, protection, and related critical power infrastructure.
- Systems-thinking approach connecting commercial demand, engineering constraints, and operational execution.
- Comfort building structure, process, and product definition in a rapidly evolving and partially standardized environment.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and influence without direct authority.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple priorities.
- Analytical mindset with experience evaluating product and market performance.
- Working knowledge preferred: ERP systems, BOM structures, electrical power distribution systems, switchgear, switchboards, power quality, controls, or related critical power infrastructure.
- Ability to travel approximately 20–30% for customer interaction, internal alignment, and industry events.
