On site in Atlanta, GA, at Home Depot, you’ll join a collaborative, cross functional team that partners with Engineering, UX, Analytics, and business stakeholders to optimize end to end supply chain delivery across distribution centers and stores. The role centers on deep user empathy, data driven decision making, and a commitment to learning and development.
You will operate in a modern software environment that values XP, test driven development, and continuous deployment. Participation in communities of practice and talent development activities supports growth and skill-building. Travel is typically under 10 percent.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize deep user empathy to uncover the fastest path to delivering value.
- Translate business goals and user needs into a clear product strategy and share direction with engineers, cross functional teams, and external partners.
- Define success metrics and analytics to quantify value, then refine the backlog based on new learnings.
- Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, guiding future work by expected value.
- Collaborate with Finance to assess financial needs and shape business cases for new opportunities.
- Keep research and competitive insights in view to propose best in class solutions.
- Align product direction with user needs and business goals to drive sales, improve efficiency, and boost customer satisfaction.
- Test assumptions through user research and experiments, refining hypotheses accordingly.
- Document work and ensure adherence to quality and change-control standards.
- Write, prioritize and accept user stories and integrate them into release planning.
- Make day to day product decisions that drive value.
- Evaluate pros, cons, risks, dependencies and value for features and enhancements.
- Participate in standups, iteration planning, demos and retrospectives.
- Translate technical concepts into clear, non technical language for stakeholders.
- Foster cross functional collaboration with engineering, UX and other teams to unlock value and resolve impediments.
- Advocate for modern software development practices and center the work on the end user.
- Maintain a strong product presence with users and stakeholders by understanding their needs.
- Collaborate with the product team to track progress, share lessons learned, and plan next steps.
- Manage cross functional expectations to execute the product strategy and educate requestors to prioritize based on tangible benefits and user experience.
- Mentor junior teammates in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks.
- Contribute to learning activities around modern software design and development practices and participate in communities of practice.
- Engage in talent acquisition, development and retention activities to support the team.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 and legal eligibility to work in the United States.
- 3 to 6 years of relevant product management experience in a modern software development enterprise, ideally within supply chain, delivery, sourcing, or complex enterprise product environments.
- Experience as a Product Manager in a modern software development environment with agile practices, specifically XP principles such as paired programming, test driven development, and continuous deployment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, fluid environment where priorities shift regularly.
- Strong communication and influence across functional and technical teams at all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to collaborate within cross functional, modern software design and development teams.
- Proficiency in creating, prioritizing and accepting user stories.
- Experience conducting user research and testing to understand needs.
- Ability to identify goals, metrics and analytics to measure product value.
- Experience conducting competitive research and analysis.
- Experience guiding more junior team members through product management fundamentals in a professional setting.
- Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Minimum Education
