Senior Product Operations Manager

GitHub is hiring a Senior Product Operations Manager to help shape release operations and launch readiness across its developer AI portfolio. In this remote role, you will set operational strategy and backlog direction for AI-powered systems designed to improve efficiency across Engineering, Product, Design, and GTM.

You will run the portfolio’s release readiness cadence, connect the right stakeholders at the right time, and use operational signals to spot risk early and prioritize improvements. Alongside that, you will drive an automation roadmap spanning AI-powered release tracking, intelligent triage, self-service launch tooling, and automated stakeholder reporting, while staying current on modern AI capabilities.

What you’ll do

• Lead the release readiness process across the portfolio, establishing operational rhythms and reviews that keep launches on track
• Coordinate across product, engineering, PMM, and revenue to ensure aligned launch decisions with the appropriate stakeholders
• Define and monitor operational health metrics, combining release data, customer signals, and stakeholder input to surface risks and inform prioritization
• Tailor communications for different audiences, from engineering status updates to executive-facing readiness reports
• Own the automation roadmap for systems that accelerate EPD and GTM, including AI-powered release tracking, intelligent triage, self-service launch tooling, automated stakeholder reporting, and related work
• Understand how product and GTM teams operate today, identify high-value automation opportunities, and define what to build next
• Maintain and prioritize a backlog for operational automation, working with automation engineers to translate operational insight into shipped solutions
• Set success metrics for owned systems, measure adoption and impact, and iterate based on learnings
• Stay fluent in modern AI capabilities such as LLMs, agents, copilots, and automation platforms to distinguish where they can drive meaningful improvements

What you bring

• Bachelor’s Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, design, product management, or product/design operations
• OR 8+ years experience in engineering, design, product management, or product/design operations
• OR equivalent experience
• 3+ years’ experience in SaaS or cloud platform product development lifecycle environments
• 3+ years’ experience driving cross-functional coordination across product, engineering, marketing, or revenue stakeholders
• Experience with release management, launch readiness, or go-to-market operations for a multi-product portfolio
• Experience owning a backlog or roadmap and partnering with engineers to deliver against it
• Fluency with modern AI capabilities, including LLMs, agents, and AI-powered automation, with the ability to separate high-value applications from hype
• Passion for GitHub, developer tools, and the developer ecosystem

Compensation

• Annual base salary range: USD 124,000 - 329,200 (per year)
