Job Description

At Davidson Technologies, Inc., you’ll support mission-critical ground-based capabilities as a Senior Systems Product Owner for the Missile Defense System (MDS). This onsite role in Colorado Springs, CO brings together product strategy, systems thinking, and Agile delivery to help teams develop, integrate, test, and sustain radar capabilities that meet operational needs.

Compensation: USD 195,000 - 223,000 per year.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with government, program, engineering, and mission stakeholders to understand operational needs and ensure they are reflected in the product backlog and development process.
  • Own and communicate product vision, roadmap, and priorities aligned with program objectives.
  • Work with Systems Engineering and technical teams to decompose system requirements into capabilities, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize backlog items using mission priorities, program objectives, technical dependencies, risk, and resource constraints.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and PI planning activities.
  • Coordinate across Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Radar Engineering, and Integration and Test to ensure requirements are understood and executable.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies by collaborating with other Product Owners to maintain alignment with the overall system and program vision.
  • Support development through deployment for capabilities supporting ground-based radar systems.
  • Analyze technical and operational issues, then work with engineering teams to identify recommendations and potential solutions.
  • Track and communicate product progress, risks, dependencies, and technical challenges to stakeholders and program leadership.
  • Create and present diagrams, workflows, capability views, and recommendations to technical and program audiences.
  • Ensure backlog items include clear requirements, measurable outcomes, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support verification and validation by confirming delivered capabilities satisfy defined requirements and stakeholder expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the product development lifecycle and Agile team.

What you bring

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Science, Math, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years experience as an Agile Product Owner, Systems Engineer, Technical Product Owner, or similar role.
  • Deep domain knowledge in areas such as radars/sensors, ship systems, or system integration and test.
  • Significant experience with system integration and test processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Experience with the Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle.
  • Experience with MATLAB and DOORS.
  • Demonstrated successful leadership as a complex system integration and/or complex system test lead.
  • Experience developing and presenting technical information and presentations to leaders or customers.
  • Expert specialty knowledge in Systems Engineering and Integration/Test of complex, large-scale systems, including leadership and guidance to teams.

Preferred background

  • Experience supporting Missile Defense System (MDS), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), or related defense programs.
  • Experience with ground-based radar systems and radar-related mission capabilities.
  • Knowledge of radar systems and capabilities such as sensor processing, command and control, tracking, discrimination, or battle management.
  • Background in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Software Development Management.
  • Experience with system-of-systems engineering and complex technical architectures.
  • Knowledge of requirements management, system integration, verification, and validation processes.
  • Experience working with government customers and/or Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience supporting Program Increment (PI) planning and execution within a SAFe environment.
  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification.
  • PMI-ACP certification or CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner).
  • Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, DOORS, Cameo, or other requirements/modeling tools.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate system architecture, interface, and operational concepts.
  • Experience working in a multi-site engineering organization with geographically distributed teams.
