Sr. Agile Product Owner
Job Description
Build and modernize enterprise products as a senior Agile Product Owner in a hybrid role based in Raleigh.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead product vision, roadmap, and delivery strategy for enterprise-scale initiatives, including core system modernization and other strategic programs.
- Align product direction with enterprise goals by balancing business value, technical feasibility, operational readiness, and long-term architecture.
- Own product delivery across multiple Agile teams and interdependent workstreams to support coordinated, high-quality execution.
- Convert complex business initiatives into prioritized backlogs, release plans, and cross-team sequencing decisions.
- Act as a senior product leader for key business and technology stakeholders, driving alignment on priorities, scope, trade-offs, and investment decisions.
- Facilitate executive-level updates covering roadmap progress, risks, dependencies, and key decisions.
- Own and govern product backlogs across teams, ensuring priorities reflect value, cost, risk, compliance, and strategic outcomes.
- Partner with architecture, engineering, data, and vendor teams to deliver scalable solutions aligned to target-state systems and integration strategy.
- Define, monitor, and use KPIs, business outcomes, and stakeholder feedback to measure success, improve adoption, and optimize delivery.
- Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies, delivery constraints, and future-state gaps to enable modernization, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field and 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, or Business Analysis in Agile environments.
- Experience leading highly complex or enterprise-level initiatives.
- Strong preference for experience in a property & casualty insurance environment.
- Demonstrated track record delivering large-scale, cross-functional or enterprise system implementations across multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and delivery workstreams.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.
- Experience managing cross-team dependencies, sequencing decisions, and delivery risk across complex programs or portfolios.
- Proven ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders, on priorities, trade-offs, and strategic direction.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills focused on value delivery.
- Experience using product management and delivery tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps.

The Opportunity
- Reporting to the Director of Digital Solutions, accountable for enterprise-scale product delivery and core system modernization and strategic initiatives at Builders Mutual.
- Defines and aligns product strategy across multiple teams to ensure delivery supports business objectives, operational efficiency, and long-term technology direction.
- Bridges underwriting, operations, and technology through partnership, prioritization, and data-driven decisions to drive value.
- Operates at the program and portfolio level by shaping roadmap decisions, influencing cross-functional alignment, and guiding complex, high-impact work across the enterprise.
- Hybrid role based in Raleigh, NC: work in the Raleigh office at least two days with flexibility to work from home the remaining three days.
