Job Description

Big Belly Solar LLC is building the smart waste and recycling system that connects hardware, embedded firmware, and the CLEAN cloud platform. This onsite role in Needham, MA focuses on owning the end-to-end product lifecycle, helping turn technical concepts into products that perform in the field. What you’ll do

  • Define the product “why,” “what,” and “when” by setting goals and developing a strategic roadmap.
  • Run discovery through user interviews and market research, including analyzing trends such as AI and assessing competitor products to find opportunities.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, making trade-offs between competing priorities and deciding what comes next.
  • Partner closely with design, engineering, sales, and marketing to support cohesive launches.
  • Track KPIs and user data to evaluate success and improve existing functionality.
  • Act as the product lead for communicating product updates, vision, and value to stakeholders and internal teams.
  • For new products, write user stories, support user testing, and assist product marketing activities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate product pricing that supports sales and business needs.
  • With roughly 50% of company products exported globally, monitor changes in market requirements to stay ahead of regulatory changes.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a heavy focus on physical products.
  • Experience supporting a hardware product lifecycle from concept through production and end-of-life.
  • Experience building pricing strategies for physical products.
  • Technical familiarity with mechanical devices, firmware, IoT communications, and cloud-based software.
  • Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and creating engaging PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to leverage generative AI tools to streamline research and content creation.
  • Familiarity with hardware design processes and tools such as SolidWorks or similar CAD environments.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems such as Arena.
