Vice President, Product Manager

Valitana is building analytics capabilities for institutional investors, and this role is responsible for defining and delivering new analytics features across structured credit, trade flow, and portfolio performance. As a product leader, you will set product specifications, guide engineering and data delivery, and represent Analytics with clients.

Location and Employment Details

Location: Plano, TX (hybrid)

Compensation: USD 150,000 to 180,000 per year

Role Overview

Valitana is seeking a Vice President, Product Manager to join the Analytics product team. In this position, you will own the definition and delivery of analytics capabilities institutional clients use to evaluate structured credit markets, trade flow, and portfolio performance. You will translate complex client and market needs into clear product specifications, lead engineering partners from concept through production, and serve as a subject matter expert on how institutional investors work with fixed income and loan data.

Responsibilities

• Author detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for analytics features and enhancements, and establish standards for specification quality across the team.
• Lead requirements gathering with clients, client services, and internal stakeholders, synthesizing inputs into well-defined product opportunities and business cases.
• Drive delivery with engineering and data teams throughout the development lifecycle, from scoping and design through QA and release, including decisions on scope and sequencing.
• Own and prioritize the Analytics product backlog and contribute to the product roadmap aligned to business objectives.
• Ensure accuracy of analytics outputs and underlying market data by investigating and resolving data issues with data teams.
• Represent the Analytics product with institutional clients, leading product demos, feedback sessions, and release communications.
• Define success metrics and monitor product usage and client feedback to measure impact and guide future iterations.
• Apply deep, current knowledge of fixed income, loan, and structured credit markets to shape product direction, and mentor junior team members on market and product concepts.

Requirements

• Experience: 4–8 years of professional experience in financial services, such as asset management, investment banking, fixed income trading or research, financial data, or a FinTech serving institutional investors, including client-facing experience.
• Demonstrated experience writing product specifications, business requirements documents, or user stories, and delivering features from concept to production.
• Strong working knowledge of fixed income and credit products, including bonds and loans.
• Solid understanding of structured finance products such as CLOs; direct experience with CLO or structured credit analytics is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis; experience with SQL or BI tools is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to senior client and internal stakeholders.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Resourceful and self-directed, able to lead initiatives independently and collaborate across teams.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school.
