AGL Product Manager
Job Description
AGD Safegate is hiring an onsite, hands-on AGL Product Manager to lead product strategy, roadmap, compliance, and lifecycle performance for airfield hardware serving the Americas market.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy, roadmap, and development priorities for assigned airfield hardware product lines
- Define and communicate product vision, strategy, positioning, and roadmap for the portfolio
- Use customer, market, competitive, regulatory, service, and business insights to identify opportunities and translate them into clear priorities and requirements
- Drive prioritization and scope decisions, approve product trade-offs, and lead product readiness and market launch activities
- Maintain the product business case and roadmap, monitor key risks and dependencies, and align stakeholders through timely decisions
- Communicate product direction, roadmap, performance, and key decisions to commercial, technical, and leadership stakeholders
- Own product lifecycle and portfolio performance, including accurate lifecycle documentation
- Decide and coordinate product changes, certification impacts, obsolescence actions, investment priorities, and product transitions
- Evaluate and prioritize enhancements, quality improvements, cost reductions, supply continuity actions, and lifecycle investments using customer and business value
- Own phase-in and phase-out planning for new, updated, and legacy products, including customer and business impact
- Represent global customer needs with a focus on the Americas
- Act as the accountable product representative for global Sales, Service, and regional teams, with close support for Americas stakeholders
- Build structured customer and market insight by engaging airports, consultants, contractors, distributors, competitors, and internal partners across regions
- Represent the product in strategic customer discussions, site visits, product demonstrations, and industry events
- Provide product positioning, value propositions, roadmap guidance, pricing input, and technical-commercial support for priority customer opportunities
- Set priorities with Quality, Service, Operations, and Engineering to resolve field issues based on safety, customer, commercial, and lifecycle impact
- Ensure corrective actions, product improvements, and lessons learned are incorporated into roadmap and lifecycle plans
- Monitor product KPIs, recurring issues, reliability trends, financial performance, market feedback, and customer outcomes to surface improvement opportunities
- Use field and performance data to make evidence-based roadmap, investment, and phase-out decisions
- Own product-level compliance and certification priorities tied to FAA requirements, ICAO standards, and other applicable regional and international requirements
- Partner with Engineering and certification teams to plan qualification, documentation, approvals, and market access activities
- Assess product changes and roadmap decisions for regulatory, commercial, lifecycle, and customer impact
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation, Business, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of experience in product development, product management, engineering, application engineering, technical support, or a related role
- Experience owning or managing hardware products across strategy, development, launch, growth, sustaining, and phase-out phases
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and operational teams
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through influence, trade-offs, and delivery of measurable outcomes
- Ability to balance customer needs, market evidence, financial considerations, and technical constraints into product decisions and actionable requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication, sound judgement, and a collaborative working style
- Travel internationally up to 30%

A Plus (Not a Must)
- Experience in aviation, airport infrastructure, airfield lighting, electrical infrastructure, or industrial equipment
- Familiarity with FAA specifications, airport operations, or regulated hardware products
- Experience owning new product introduction (NPI), business cases, roadmaps, product change, or stage-gate processes
- Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, quality, certification, or field service environments
- Experience with airfield signs, transformers, PAPIs, lighting fixtures, or related electrical products
