Assistant Product Manager
Job Description
Star Asia USA, LLC dba Titan Tools is hiring an Assistant Product Manager in Kent, WA (onsite). In this role, you’ll help support product line development, launches, and ongoing lifecycle management, partnering with Sales, Graphics, Purchasing, Sourcing, and Operations to deliver accurate product content, packaging, pricing recommendations, and market-ready materials.
What you’ll do
- Conduct consumer, customer, market, and competitive research to uncover product trends, opportunities, and competitive differences, then compile and present findings to inform product positioning and development decisions.
- Support commercialization and the launch of new products by helping ensure launches are completed accurately and on schedule, aligned to established sales and profitability goals.
- Coordinate development of marketing and product collateral for assigned projects with the Creative team and other departments, tracking timelines and following up to keep work moving forward.
- Support the development and management of Company Brand and Private Label products, including product research, branding, packaging, product content, and launch activities.
- Gather market, customer, competitive, and product information to support marketing initiatives, assisting with evaluation of market opportunities and customer needs tied to business and product objectives.
- Coordinate creation and maintenance of product assets and content, including in-use photography, video, installation guides, eCommerce content, and other product materials, and help coordinate product samples and quality control.
- Assist with pricing and gross margin analysis by gathering cost, competitive, market, and pricing inputs and preparing recommendations for review.
- Research industry trends and customer needs to identify new product opportunities and support Sales and Marketing in evaluating and developing new product ideas.
- Support Sales with customer line reviews, product presentations, and customer meetings as needed, including participation in trade shows to gain insight and represent Titan Tools’ product lines.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers throughout development by communicating requirements, confirming specifications, reviewing samples, resolving issues, and helping keep projects on schedule.
- Help with new product part number setup, including product categorization, hierarchy placement, system setup, and ongoing maintenance of product information within ERP (Netsuite) and PIM (Salsify) systems.
- Support product updates and ongoing maintenance of existing product lines, coordinating packaging requirements and changes to keep product information and materials accurate and current.
- Write and edit product content such as product documentation, marketing materials, product descriptions, and user guides, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with positioning and customer needs.
- Support product merchandising strategy for customer and channel requirements, including assortment, presentation, packaging, and supporting materials.
- Participate in domestic and international factory visits as needed to help evaluate supplier capabilities, product offerings, quality, and opportunities for Titan product lines.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
- Previous experience in product management, marketing, product development, project coordination, or related work preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Purchasing, Marketing, Creative, Product Development, and external suppliers.
- Strong analytical and research skills to gather, interpret, and communicate market, customer, competitive, and product information.
- Attention to detail for managing product information, specifications, pricing, packaging, and other product details accurately.
- Excellent written communication skills for technically accurate product content and documentation, plus strong verbal and presentation skills for internal teams, suppliers, customers, and partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with ERP, PIM, or other product information systems is a plus.
- Creative and curious mindset with interest in identifying new product ideas, market opportunities, and ways to improve product presentation and merchandising.
- Ability to learn technical product information and understand real-world use.
- Previous experience in DIY Tool, Automotive Aftermarket, Hardware, Retail, or related industries preferred; hands-on experience with tools, automotive products, or DIY applications is a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed for customer meetings, trade shows, supplier/factory visits, and meetings with Sales and end users.
