Associate Product Manager
Job Description
Located onsite in Easton, Pennsylvania, this Associate Product Manager role focuses on maximizing product value and profitability across the lifecycle. You will support product development initiatives and cross-functional teams, oversee the product portfolio, assist with new product launches, and monitor post-launch performance.
Responsibilities
- Assess profitability of product lines across the portfolio by applying financial modeling and market analysis to uncover opportunities for improvement and address underperforming offerings.
- Lead product line optimization efforts to enhance performance, introduce additional features or sizes, extend the catalog with prefabricated options, improve margins, or broaden market applications based on market feedback and financial analysis.
- Drive product line consolidation to simplify offerings, reduce SKU count, boost operational efficiency, and coordinate customer communications and product transitions.
- Support ongoing product commercialization activities with marketing and sales, including creating product impact videos, coordinating trade shows, and delivering training.
- Oversee obsolescence programs for mature or declining products, ensuring smooth customer transitions, inventory planning, last-time-buy options, and recommending alternatives.
- Assist with market analysis and research to inform business case development.
- Coordinate alpha and beta testing programs, managing test site logistics, gathering customer feedback, and documenting performance data.
- Support major product development initiatives by providing analytical support, shaping commercialization strategies, evaluating pricing, and coordinating cross-functional activities.
- Create and deliver training materials for internal teams and external stakeholders on product features, benefits, and competitive positioning.
- Conduct post launch reviews at 12 months to analyze sales, margins, market share, customer satisfaction, and competitive response to determine product success.
- Monitor profitability of individual products using data analytics to track margins, identify cost drivers, and propose pricing or cost adjustments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Finance, Sales, or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience in project management, product marketing, market management, or business analysis.
- Strong analytical capabilities with advanced Excel proficiency including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Solid understanding of product development processes and experience collaborating across function lines.
- Experience with financial analysis including P and L statements and margin analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven track record of effective cross-functional teamwork.
- Strategic influence and communication skills, with the ability to tailor rationales for different internal groups and external customers; strong executive communication.
- Global thinking that accounts for varied markets and organizations, aligning objectives to minimize waste and redundancy.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Domestic and international travel up to 15 percent.
