Job Description

The Associate Product Manager for Checkout (Fraud & Payments) at Ria Money Transfer supports the Fraud and Payments squads within the Checkout domain. This role partners closely with Product Managers to advance product work while ensuring day-to-day operations are monitored, escalations are handled, and vendor performance is tracked.

Location and Schedule

  • Denver, CO (hybrid)
  • Hybrid work schedule, Monday to Friday (8-5)

Compensation

  • USD 85,000 - 110,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Support the Fraud and Payments Product Managers in the day-to-day operation of the Checkout domain, including triaging incoming issues and escalations, monitoring product dashboards and alerts, tracking vendor performance, and following up on open action items across both squads.
  • Use data analysis to inform product decisions by writing and running SQL queries, building and maintaining reports and dashboards in Excel, Amplitude, or similar tools, and translating insights into recommendations related to approval rates, fraud losses, chargebacks, and payment performance.
  • Assist in delivery of critical projects across both squads by drafting product requirements and user stories, maintaining the backlog in Jira, coordinating with engineering, design, data, and external vendors, and tracking delivery milestones and launch readiness.
  • Prepare recurring product reporting and business reviews by consolidating KPIs from both squads into weekly and monthly updates, documenting experiment results, and creating materials for leadership and stakeholder presentations.
  • Conduct discovery and research by analyzing user behavior and funnel data, benchmarking competitor and industry practices in payments and fraud prevention, and documenting findings to inform the product roadmap.
  • Support vendor and partner management by monitoring SLAs and performance of fraud and payment providers, assisting with data pulls for vendor evaluations, and documenting integration and process logic.
  • Drive continuous improvement by keeping product documentation current, improving operational runbooks, and identifying opportunities to automate recurring analyses and reporting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in product management, product analytics, data analysis, or a related role, ideally in payments, fintech, fraud/risk, e-commerce, or another data-intensive digital product environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL is required, with strong preference for experience with Python or R, statistical analysis, and dashboard building in tools such as Amplitude, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of product management fundamentals including writing requirements and user stories, backlog management, agile ways of working, and working directly with engineering teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets to produce accurate, decision-ready analysis.
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence, plus familiarity with payment processing, fraud prevention, or risk decisioning systems as a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with rigor to validate data before drawing conclusions and the judgment to distinguish signal from noise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to synthesize complex technical and data topics for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized and able to context-switch between two squads, manage competing priorities, and operate with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule M-F (8-5).

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
