AVP, Product Manager (Equities Technology)

Jefferies & Company, Inc. is hiring an AVP, Product Manager to help shape the evolution of its Global Electronic Trading Services (GETS) for equities. In this onsite New York role, you will drive the strategy, development, and ongoing improvement of core capabilities for an electronic trading platform, owning work from early ideation through implementation and adoption.

You will collaborate closely with engineering and a wide set of business partners, including trading desks, prime brokerage, operations, and compliance, translating real trading and operational needs into clear product plans and delivery. The position also includes coordinating release planning and go-live readiness activities across global teams.

What you will do

• Define and execute the product roadmap for strategic initiatives across the Equities trading platform.
• Partner with trading, prime brokerage, operations, compliance, and technology stakeholders to identify business needs and enhancement opportunities.
• Gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements, translating them into user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Act as the primary liaison between business teams and engineering to maintain alignment on objectives, priorities, and delivery timelines.
• Own and maintain product backlogs in JIRA, supporting Agile planning, prioritization, and execution.
• Evaluate trade lifecycle workflows and processes to find opportunities for automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with QA and development teams to define testing needs, validate functionality, and support successful product releases.
• Lead product release planning and go-live readiness efforts across global teams.
• Partner with regulatory and compliance stakeholders to ensure platform capabilities support evolving regulatory requirements and testing programs.
• Use stakeholder feedback, platform usage, and business outcomes to continuously improve product performance and user experience.
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership covering product strategy, roadmap progress, achievements, risks, and dependencies.

What you bring

• 3+ years of Product Management experience in capital markets, electronic trading, prime brokerage, or financial technology environments.
• Strong understanding of equities markets and electronic trading workflows, trade lifecycle processes, or prime services operations.
• Experience creating product roadmaps, gathering requirements, and translating business needs into technology solutions.
• Ability to work effectively with trading desks, operations teams, compliance stakeholders, and software engineering organizations.
• Experience creating user stories, process flows, use cases, functional specifications, and product documentation.
• Strong knowledge of Agile development methodologies and software development lifecycle practices.
• Experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs using JIRA or similar Agile tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, balancing strategic thinking with execution.
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced, front-office environment with competing priorities.
• Detail-oriented with strong presentation and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

• Full Time Salary Range: USD 125,000 - 150,000 per year.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience supporting electronic trading platforms, algorithmic trading, low-latency trading systems, or prime brokerage technology.
• Familiarity with regulatory testing, market structure, and equities trading regulations.
• Working knowledge of FIX protocol, OMS, EMS, or trading infrastructure.
