Development Product Owner Senior - GRC Technology

USAA is looking for a Senior Development Product Owner to help deliver compliant technology solutions in a regulated environment. This onsite role in San Antonio, Texas partners business stakeholders with delivery teams to shape product requirements, prioritize outcomes, and manage execution using Agile and/or SAFe practices.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to understand strategy and vision, then write, refine, accept, and prioritize stories and/or features that support compliant solutions while balancing investment and business value.
• Own and maintain a prioritized work backlog for one or more Agile teams, ensuring user stories include acceptance criteria that are consumable and testable.
• Review and accept output from IT and/or business development to confirm specified acceptance criteria are completed.
• Act as the direct business representative for one or more delivery teams, representing the customers’ perspective throughout the delivery cycle.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with user experience partners, designers, business analysts, developers, testers, and others to develop, execute, and release in alignment with program and/or product roadmaps.
• Partner with sponsors, stakeholders, and IT to facilitate, define, and document relevant business processes, building advanced understanding of needs, measures, and risks and controls for improvement areas.
• Prepare the business for change by providing tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk, leveraging existing change management routines as needed.
• Work across internal and external technologies to provide oversight of development, testing, and controls.
• Apply advanced knowledge to enhance the business development/execution function and coach and mentor other Product Owners.
• Demonstrate advanced domain knowledge across multiple business or system areas and lead development across multiple teams at the project or program level.
• Ensure risks related to business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in line with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
• 6 years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, business/requirements analysis, or directly related supported business operations/product line.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, applicable databases, and product management tools.
• Advanced knowledge of multiple delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and SAFe.
• Advanced experience analyzing business requirements, process flows, and use cases to streamline business processes in accordance with risk management framework and regulatory requirements.
• Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of Process Engineering methodologies.
• Strong ability to independently gather requirements, develop user stories, and follow the development process through story acceptance.
• 3+ years supporting or delivering Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) technology solutions.
• 2+ years working on ServiceNow implementations, enhancements, or technology initiatives.
• 8+ years working in Agile and/or SAFe environments.
• Experience with Jira, Clarity, or other project and portfolio management tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including executive reporting and presentations.
• Experience collecting and analyzing business data to support decision-making.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and lead through complex organizational challenges, including presenting to senior leaders and large audiences.
• Proven leadership skills driving results across multiple teams.
• Military service experience or experience as a military spouse/domestic partner is highly valued.

• Compensation range: $108,480 - $207,320 per year
