Everest Reinsurance Company seeks an experienced AI Product Owner to lead the end-to-end development and delivery of AI-driven solutions supporting Underwriting and Claims. This role connects business strategy with technology execution to ensure AI use cases deliver measurable value.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for owning AI product initiatives from early ideation through implementation, scaling, and ongoing improvement. The position requires close partnership with Underwriting, Claims, and other stakeholders to define priorities, translate needs into actionable product requirements, and coordinate delivery with data science and engineering teams. You will also support and enhance enterprise AI capabilities, including EverAssist, by aligning product use cases with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI products and use cases, from ideation through implementation and scaling.
- Partner with business stakeholders across Underwriting, Claims, and other functions to identify, prioritize, and define high-impact AI opportunities.
- Translate business needs into product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with enterprise strategic priorities.
- Lead backlog prioritization and sprint planning with data science, engineering, and delivery teams.
- Create process maps and identify optimization opportunities through AI and automation.
- Support successful implementation and adoption of AI solutions, including change management and stakeholder communication.
- Monitor product performance, define KPIs, and drive continuous improvement using insights and feedback.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure feasibility, scalability, and integration with existing systems.
- Support and enhance enterprise AI platforms (for example, EverAssist) by aligning use cases and capabilities with business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Data Science, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or related roles.
- Strong domain knowledge of insurance operations, especially Underwriting and Claims.
- Proven experience implementing AI/ML or advanced analytics use cases in a business environment.
- Strong business analysis capability, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and core product management practices.
- Technical acumen to partner effectively with data scientists and engineers, with familiarity across AI/ML concepts, data pipelines, and APIs.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA and Confluence, along with process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all organizational levels.
