Digital/Technical Product Manager I
Job Description
USAA is hiring a Digital/Technical Product Manager I to support the Enterprise Workflow Solutions team within the Member Value office. In this role, you will help define, mature, and coordinate delivery of workflow strategy, including modernization to a new workflow platform and re-engineering of business operational workflows.
Based in the office 4 days per week, you will use a mix of research, data, and product execution experience to translate business and customer needs into initiatives, guide validation efforts with cross-functional partners, and maintain clarity on performance against KPIs and KRIs.
What you’ll do
- Independently apply Digital or Technology research, business and market intelligence, and data-driven insights to find opportunities, propose solutions, build and maintain roadmaps, and improve performance.
- Translate Digital or Technology product and experience opportunities, including customer “needs” and “wants” and other inputs, into initiatives such as requirements and features, then drive execution strategy.
- Lead product and experience ideas from concept through market validation by collaborating with relevant stakeholders and SMEs across Business, UX, Technology, Ops, Marketing, and more.
- Create business case artifacts and hypotheses to support scoping of Digital or Technology product and experience opportunities.
- Use data-driven problem-solving and analytical rigor to understand and report product and experience performance against KPIs and KRIs.
- Generate insights using a variety of tools and resources to identify areas of opportunity that inform Digital or Technology improvements.
- Develop relationships with customers such as business partners, members, and stakeholders to understand current and future business needs.
- Prepare presentations and other communications to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Research and identify industry best practices and trends to strengthen effectiveness of Digital or Technology products.
- Maintain and apply maturing knowledge of Business, Technology, UX, relevant experiences and processes, plus academic knowledge of Product Management.
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks tied to business activities in line with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
- 4 years Digital/Technology Product Management experience, including Digital/Technology experience in Strategy/Planning, Innovation, User Experience, Process Engineering, Analytics, and Research/Testing.
- 1 year of Customer Contact Channel experience within the Insurance or Financial services industry (will take place of 1 year of the minimum experience required).
- Demonstrated ability to develop, present, influence, and communicate business decisions effectively.
- Knowledge of Agile Methodology.

Compensation and work details
- Location: San Antonio, TX (onsite). Can be based in San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Colorado Springs, CO; Charlotte, NC; or Tampa, FL.
- Salary range: USD 103,450 to 197,730 per year. Pay varies based on experience and market data; actual salary may vary by location.
- Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance, at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
