Job Description

project44 is hiring a Director of Product Operations to keep major cross-functional product efforts moving, aligned to executive priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Align Product, Sales, and Professional Services on one plan for sales readiness, quoting, FDE scoping, and go-live timelines
  • Coordinate Marketing, Product, and Sales readiness so launches land together
  • Run Product and Design leadership meeting cadence and plan leadership offsites
  • Prepare OKR retros content and board materials that convert status into actionable decisions
  • Represent Product’s position in cross-functional forums and escalate only what needs the CPO
  • Maintain roadmap hygiene, intake SLAs, and release readiness with Product Ops, Product Marketing, CX, and Engineering leadership
  • Identify initiatives requiring formal programs, then stand them up end-to-end: scope, owners, milestones, decision rights, governance, and completion
  • Maintain a single, trusted view of program and roadmap status, including risks and dependencies, feeding executive and board reporting
  • Stand up a product-quality operating system with Compliance, Legal, Security, and Engineering, including:
    • Quality management plan
    • Review council
    • Stage-gated development process
    • Documentation controls
    • Validation/audit-trail/data-retention controls for GxP, SOC 2, ISO, etc.
  • Translate regulatory and audit needs into concrete product commitments and maintain a defensible source of truth for diligence
  • Make data quality a governed key result across PRDs and programs, not one-off fixes
  • Run mid-quarter re-plans from a stack-ranked source of truth with documented trade-offs
  • Track roadmap work against OKRs and support the CPO and pillar leads in defining OKRs that focus the org each cycle
  • Own the operating model for AI as a product capability, including:
    • Review gates for agent behavior and autonomy
    • Evaluation and monitoring with Engineering and Compliance
    • Cross-functional execution muscle to ship agentic features responsibly

Requirements

  • Owned a cross-functional program end-to-end from ambiguity to shipped outcome with minimal oversight
  • Made calls under incomplete information and owned outcomes
  • Handled integration timelines, data quality, or technical trade-offs directly
  • Partnered closely with engineering to scope work
  • Created content for CEO/board/senior audiences that distinguishes status from decision-ready briefs
  • Distilled complex, multi-team situations into a one-page summary
  • Operated close to a senior leader: representing accurately, protecting time, and judging what to escalate
  • Used sound judgment with confidential information
  • Ran an OKR cycle (or equivalent) that focused on execution, not only aggregating existing plans
  • Connected day-to-day execution to objectives so leadership could track progress mid-quarter
  • Understands agentic workflows (non-determinism, autonomy levels, human-in-the-loop, evaluation/monitoring) well enough to shape governance
  • Uses AI tools fluently in personal workflow and can support responsible, governed AI shipping
  • Experience standing up or running a QMS, stage-gate review process, or documentation control system, ideally in a regulated environment (e.g., GxP / 21 CFR Part 11, ISO standards, SOC 2)
  • Understands CSV/CSA and audit-trail concepts sufficiently to partner with Engineering/Security/Compliance (not as a quality SME)
  • 12+ years in product operations, program/portfolio management, chief-of-staff, or management consulting, with senior cross-functional leadership in complex B2B SaaS
  • Bachelor’s degree required
