This onsite role is based in Dallas, TX and centers on people leadership and design operations for a multi-brand design team working across fan experiences, a multi-tenant design system, and CMS interfaces.
Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager of Product Design to guide and elevate a diverse design group. You will lead across multiple product workstreams, shape end-to-end design processes, and drive design operations that scale as the product surface expands. A strong emphasis on leadership, collaboration with Engineering and Product Management, and a user-centered mindset will define success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a cadre of Product Designers across several product workstreams
- Set clear expectations, define career development paths, and cultivate a culture of craft and accountability
- Conduct regular 1:1s, design critiques, and performance conversations that advance individual growth
- Identify skill gaps and grow team capability through targeted hiring, coaching, and structural planning
- Define scalable, end-to-end design processes from discovery to delivery
- Establish and maintain design workflows, documentation standards, and team tooling
- Integrate AI tools into team workflows, establish best practices, and build organizational fluency
- Ground design decisions in product KPIs and usage data to measure impact
- Collaborate with the Director to evolve the design organization as the team and product surface grow
- Fan Experience: ensure web and mobile experiences are intuitive, performant, and tied to engagement metrics
- Design System: build, govern, and scale component libraries and patterns across hundreds of school brands while maintaining consistency
- CMS: account for content structure, configuration, and rendering in design decisions
- Advocate for the end user within a B2B2C model, with the fan as the ultimate quality measure
- Partner with Engineering to close gaps between design intent and shipped product
- Serve as a strategic design partner to Product Management, contributing to roadmaps, discovery, and prioritization
- Represent the design perspective in product planning and cross-functional reviews
- Bridge the gap between design vision and execution as product processes mature
- Communicate design decisions clearly to stakeholders at all levels, including school partners when needed
- Leverage experience in sports, media, or multi-tenant SaaS and familiarity with collegiate athletics or fan experience design
- Scale a design team during organizational growth or restructuring
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the end-to-end design process from research to iteration
- Design within a B2B2C or multi-tenant model and understand how configurability affects the end user
- Show a proven track record of building and scaling multi-brand design systems in complex environments
- Apply CMS architecture knowledge to frontend design and component-based experiences
- Integrate AI into team design workflows as a discipline that elevates the entire team
- Use data and KPIs to inform design strategy and demonstrate impact with evidence
- Partner with Product and Engineering where processes are being defined and refined
- Communicate effectively to align stakeholders, facilitate critiques, and advocate for design with clarity and conviction
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk for most of the day and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse comfortably
Requirements
- Experience in sports, media, or multi-tenant SaaS platforms
- Familiarity with collegiate athletics or fan experience design
- Proven track record scaling a design team through organizational growth or restructuring
- 7+ years of product design experience, including at least 3 years in a design leadership or management role
- Deep understanding of the end-to-end design process from research and discovery through delivery and iteration
- Experience designing within a B2B2C or multi-tenant model and awareness of how configurability shapes UX
- History of building and scaling multi-brand design systems in a complex product space
- Strong CMS knowledge and its relationship to frontend design and component-based experiences
- Experience embedding AI into team design workflows as a discipline, not only a productivity tool
- Ability to use data and KPIs to guide design strategy and prove impact
- Experience partnering with Product and Engineering in evolving process contexts
- Excellent communication skills to align stakeholders, facilitate critiques, and advocate for design
