Principal Associate, Project Manager - Product Operations (Execution & Talent Enablement)

Capital One’s Product Strategy & Operations team is looking for a Principal Associate, Project Manager in Product Operations to bring structure to product execution and strengthen talent enablement across Commercial Product teams. This onsite role in McLean, VA focuses on operational excellence through standardized Jira workflows, consistent OKR practices, and executive-ready reporting artifacts.

In this position, you will help establish and run the rhythms that connect local team work to top-of-house strategic metrics, while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver the operational discipline needed to manage complex initiatives.

What you’ll do

• Establish and maintain the Commercial Product OKR methodology, including reporting routines and tracking cadences.
• Equip product teams with frameworks and templates that align local deliverables to strategic metrics.
• Manage Commercial’s Jira platform operations, covering reporting and team-level enablement.
• Drive adoption of a standardized workflow taxonomy to improve structure and consistency in execution.
• Execute organization-wide associate engagement programs, capability-building routines, and talent development tracking.
• Support day-to-day operational discipline across product teams through standardized Jira workflows, OKR tracking cadences, and talent enablement routines.
• Create and maintain core operational artifacts used for MBRs, QBRs, and executive stakeholder engagement.
• Provide strategic and tactical thought partnership with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership to put the right structure in place for complex bodies of work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
• At least 3 years of Project Management experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Master’s Degree.
• 5+ years of Project Management experience.
• PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong problem-solving and influencing skills.
• Work experience achieving results with complex projects.

Location and salary

This role is based in McLean, VA (onsite) with a salary range of $120,800 - $137,900 per year for Principal Project Manager.

Additional location salary ranges (full-time annual): Charlotte, NC: $109,900 - $125,400; Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400.
