Principal Product Manager- Monetization
Job Description
The Principal Product Manager will lead the strategy, evolution, and growth of subscription plans, tiering, and monetization opportunities for Disney Entertainment and ESPN’s global streaming and digital products. This onsite role is based in San Francisco, CA, with a annual salary range of USD 206,400 to 276,700. A minimum of ten years of product management experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree are required.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the long term strategy for subscription plans and tiering, and evaluate new monetization opportunities.
- Drive the evolution of the plan portfolio across tiers and plans, including student plans and emerging offerings.
- Craft differentiated experiences tailored to distinct consumer segments, behaviors, and willingness-to-pay profiles.
- Partner with Pricing, Finance, Data Science, and other Product teams to optimize our offering.
- Translate user insights, market trends, and behavioral data into clear product opportunities and prioritization decisions.
- Define success metrics and own experimentation frameworks to evaluate customer and business impact.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Research, and Analytics to deliver high impact customer experiences at scale.
- Balance customer value, revenue outcomes, operational complexity, and platform scalability in product decisions.
- Influence executive stakeholders with clear communication, strategic thinking, and data informed recommendations.
- Stay current on industry trends across streaming, subscriptions, creator ecosystems, and digital consumer products.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product management experience building and scaling consumer facing digital products.
- Strong experience in subscriptions, monetization, growth, pricing and packaging, membership programs, or marketplace ecosystems.
- Proven track record driving measurable business outcomes such as subscriber growth, conversion, retention, engagement, or revenue expansion.
- Deep understanding of experimentation, A/B testing, customer segmentation, and lifecycle optimization.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to inform strategy and prioritization.
- Experience leading cross functional initiatives across Product, Engineering, Design, Analytics, Finance, and Marketing.
- Ability to simplify complex problems and align teams around a clear product vision.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
- Customer obsessed mindset with strong product intuition and attention to user experience details.
- Experience in streaming, media, entertainment, SaaS, fintech, marketplaces, or subscription based businesses strongly preferred.
