Product Operations | General Builder (All Levels)
Job Description
Ramp is looking for a Product Operations General Builder (all levels) to take ownership of a product problem space from early investigation through execution and measurement. In this role, you’ll partner across teams to improve both customer and operational outcomes, build and validate workflows (including AI-assisted solutions), and drive operational change with empathy.
Product Operations at Ramp is built around practical impact: you connect real-world signals to the root cause, translate findings into clear recommendations, and ensure changes actually help the people who use them. Each team member is aligned to a specific product area such as Bill Pay, Procurement, or Travel.
What you will do
- Own customer and operational outcomes by taking responsibility for a defined problem, establishing a baseline, and following through until the experience improves.
- Identify the underlying problem by combining customer conversations, operational observations, and data to separate recurring causes from isolated symptoms.
- Make clear, decision-ready recommendations using product sense and business acumen to size opportunities, compare tradeoffs, and help product partners choose the process change, automation, or investment with the greatest effect.
- Build and improve workflows by creating practical tools and automations, including AI-assisted solutions, to reduce repetitive work and improve reliability, then validate outputs and measure real benefit.
- Bring changes into use with empathy by owning operational readiness, internal enablement, feedback collection, and follow-through after a launch or workflow change.
- Lead across teams by defining metrics, establishing owners, resolving dependencies, communicating decisions, and keeping key work moving when the path is unclear.
- Work within a focused product assignment since each Product Operations team member is assigned to a specific product (for example, Bill Pay, Procurement, or Travel).
What you bring
- 2-6 years of experience in banking, private equity, consulting, or in product management or business operations roles at a demanding startup.
- A track record of ownership that goes beyond initial analysis or recommendations to deliver outcomes.
- Strong quantitative reasoning, including comfort working with messy data, checking assumptions, and translating findings into decisions.
- Customer curiosity and practical judgment to prioritize the problems that matter most, solve them effectively, and talk to customers when requirements are unclear.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to earn trust for your arguments across technical and business teams.
- Resourcefulness and fast learning, with openness to feedback and evidence of quickly ramping on unfamiliar subjects.
- AI tool experience building something or improving a workflow, paired with thoughtful quality checks.
