Product Owner
Job Description
Lead Workday product delivery and continuous improvement by partnering with HR and Technology stakeholders in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Own and prioritize the Workday product backlog, sequencing work items to match business priorities and maintaining a steady flow of value across sprints and releases.
- Translate business needs into Workday requirements by partnering with stakeholders to define user stories and acceptance criteria that reflect Workday capabilities and constraints.
- Support Agile delivery by coordinating with engineering and configuration teams to keep focus on highest-value work and validate completed items against acceptance criteria.
- Help shape product vision and roadmap by aligning Workday enhancements and releases to broader HR and Finance product strategy while balancing feature delivery, technical debt, and system optimization.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-driven capabilities within Workday and HR, including generative AI, machine learning, and automation that streamline HR workflows (recruiting, onboarding, case management, and talent development).
- Drive change management and adoption of AI capabilities across HR teams, including training, communication, and measurement of value delivered through automation, insights, and improved process outcomes.
- Use data and feedback to guide prioritization decisions, leveraging product metrics, stakeholder feedback, and user insights to improve user experience and system effectiveness.
- Mitigate risks and manage dependencies by proactively identifying impacts across integrations, upstream and downstream systems, and releases; navigate scope changes and competing priorities with stakeholders.
- Build cross-functional partnerships with People, Finance, and Technology teams, acting as a trusted communicator across technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience analyzing and improving business processes, preferably within HR or Finance systems.
- 2+ years in a Product Owner, Product Analyst, or similar role, owning backlog and requirements.
- Hands-on Workday experience (example domains: HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Payroll, or Financials).
- Ability to write clear, testable user stories with measurable business value.
- Strong skill translating stakeholder needs into technical requirements, working through ambiguity, managing trade-offs, and aligning diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, HR, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting or owning a Workday product domain (Talent, Recruiting, Compensation, or Finance).
- Experience leveraging AI platforms, including Anthropic’s Claude.
- CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or another Agile certification.
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
- Familiarity with Workday releases, configuration, and integrations.
- Experience partnering with HRIS, People Technology, or Finance Technology teams.
- Experience in financial services, mortgage, or fintech environments.
