Product Owner
Job Description
Liberty Mutual is hiring a Product Owner in Indianapolis, IN (hybrid) to lead campaign management and platform capabilities that support efforts to find, win, and keep customers. In this role, you’ll partner closely with engineering, marketing, and enterprise data partners to translate strategy into a clear product backlog, measurable outcomes, and modernization initiatives across distribution channels.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate to build product vision and alignment with strategic priorities, contributing to portfolio vision and communicating it to your squad/team and other teams outside your portfolio/functional area.
- Maintain a well-crafted multiyear strategy and north star aligned with organizational and stakeholder goals.
- With your squad/team, be accountable for developing and achieving product level KPIs; manage products with moderate strategy, scope, and complexity.
- Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring accountable prioritization and clear, actionable user stories.
- Set priorities and participate in quarterly planning, collaborating with more senior Product Owners for portfolio quarterly planning.
- Set delivery expectations with stakeholders for new capabilities and functionalities; participate in demos, retrospectives, and other squad/team ceremonies.
- Work daily with the agile working group to clarify business requirements, remove roadblocks, and communicate continuously to support alignment around product strategy.
- Partner with IT and business leadership to align development and business goals, resolve open issues quickly, and remove obstacles to execution.
- Monitor and maintain product health, balancing long- and short-term considerations, costs, and desired outcomes.
- Analyze and report feasibility and cost of delay impacts, including economies or other effects of planned or potential product changes.
- Understand regulatory and compliance constraints and prioritize accordingly, negotiating across internal and external squads/teams to align priorities.
- Contribute to building the squad/team roadmap and strategy inputs from stakeholders; may contribute to program/portfolio planning and influence expectations for delivery.
- Communicate expected value and changes in value per iteration (sprint, monthly, quarterly, etc.) based on squad/team capacity.
- Lead customer-driven design and usability testing with the squad/team, coordinating with CDD and UT across the portfolio and using market and industry analysis to keep the product well-positioned.
Requirements
- Agile development and IT project management knowledge typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.).
- Minimum 3 to 5 years direct experience with agile teams and 7 years in business, technology, or consulting.
- Ability to explain complex ideas, issues, and designs to varied audiences and educate business units/departments on business vision, plan, and change impact.
- Strong leadership and ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Ability to make difficult and quick decisions daily.
- Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to lead progress and push solutions forward.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred.
- Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation under uncertainty.

Compensation
- Salary range: USD 106,000 - 197,000 per year
- The typical starting salary range depends on factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
- The full salary range reflects national market value and provides opportunity to progress as employees grow within the role.
