Product Owner
Job Description
Florida Blue is hiring a Product Owner (hybrid) to drive agile execution, turn product needs into user stories, and coordinate delivery with product and IT partners.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Product Manager to deliver the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, including understanding business value and return on investment
- Provide direction to the agile development team by communicating product strategy and collaborating with the development team and business system analyst to deliver features
- Lead program-level backlog refinement and grooming to understand features and translate them into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Participate in scrum events and support iteration pre-planning through planning and prioritizing backlog user stories for maximum value aligned to product strategy
- Create detailed user stories during iteration planning to support effective execution
- Coordinate and actively participate in sprint reviews and retrospectives; ensure stakeholders are available and engaged as needed
- Build, edit, and maintain the team backlog, including defects, enablers, and technical debt
- Own testing coordination by supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, test credential management, defect reporting and resolution, and acceptance of user stories as done
- Maintain product documentation, including product requirements documentation
- Resolve escalations and remove blockers to sustain velocity and productivity; partner with the Product Manager to identify risks early and apply mitigation strategies to protect delivery timelines, scope, quality, and business value
- Identify and track cross-team dependencies and coordinate cross-team handoffs to prevent integration issues and misalignment
- Lead product feature-level release planning, create release plans for assigned features, and participate in post-production implementation validation activities
- Identify process inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement to improve delivery speed and quality
Requirements
- 3+ years related work experience; at least 2 years in a product organization, agile execution, or related product execution roles
- Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience
- In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
- Demonstrated experience working in agile and iterative development environments
- Ability to communicate complex product requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with product backlog management and user story writing
- Strong critical thinking, collaboration, and stakeholder alignment skills
Preferred
- Business knowledge of Florida Blue Lean/Six Sigma or Product Owner certification
- Experience leading teams in a matrix environment with reporting responsibilities to two or more different areas

Hybrid work arrangement
- This position offers a hybrid work arrangement combining flexibility with in-office engagement
- Team schedules are determined based on role requirements and business needs
- Travel to and from corporate or regional offices may be required
Annualized salary range
- $77,600 - $126,100 per year
- Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $77,600 - $97,000
- Final pay determined based on market competitiveness, internal equity, and job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience
