Product Owner

PetSmart is hiring a Product Owner to lead tactical execution for the Loyalty & Account product vision and roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog with the Agile team, keeping priorities clearly defined and tied to business value.
• Set development team priorities and define user stories, including acceptance criteria.
• Review completed work and accept deliverables in partnership with the Agile team.
• Oversee product development from technical design through delivery, partnering with Product Managers and stakeholders to execute the roadmap, strategy, and vision.
• Create detailed product feature specifications and ensure teams understand them.
• Communicate trade-off decisions to Product Managers and provide recommendations on the path forward.
• Monitor and evaluate the product lifecycle across development, release, post-launch support, and performance assessment to drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate testing and control processes to meet quality standards, making adjustments as needed for successful delivery and performance.
• Provide technical guidance during delivery and participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and reviews.
• Demonstrate completed work to stakeholders and gather feedback to improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with solution architects, UX, User Research, and A/B testing teams; partner with other Product Owners and Scrum Masters to maintain alignment across cross-functional initiatives.
• Prioritize the backlog using business value, customer impact, and strategic alignment.
• Evaluate trade-offs to focus effort on the highest-value features and outcomes.
• Continuously refine priorities using data, stakeholder input, and performance insights to maximize ROI and product success.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks and cross-team dependencies that may affect delivery.
• Remove blockers proactively by coordinating with stakeholders and partner teams to maintain progress and meet delivery timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in an Agile environment as an active member of a Scrum team (for example: Engineer, Scrum Master, Analyst, or Product Owner).
• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
