Product Owner - Claims Client Experience
Job Description
The Product Owner will lead the product vision, direction, and delivery of a client-facing claims journey at Aon, working across Aon Claims Copilot and through Aon Meridian. This hybrid role is based in Chicago, IL, with in-office time expected 2–3 days per week.
Role Focus
Own the end-to-end development of capabilities that support client experiences in claims. Drive agile product leadership, customer-focused planning, and digital innovation to deliver measurable value for clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics.
- Translate customer needs, market trends, and business priorities into strategic product initiatives.
- Prioritize investments that enhance customer experience, improve operational effectiveness, and support business growth.
- Use customer feedback, operational insights, and product data to guide decisions.
- Manage backlog and product prioritization using Agile and Scrum practices.
- Partner with engineering, design, architecture, and delivery teams to move ideas from concept through release.
- Create user stories, define acceptance criteria, and support sprint planning and execution.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities to enable informed trade-offs.
- Build strong working relationships across technology, business, operations, compliance, and delivery organizations.
- Lead discovery sessions, solution reviews, and user feedback activities with clients and key collaborators.
- Communicate product priorities, progress, and results to both technical and business audiences.
- Align collaborators around shared objectives and customer outcomes.
- Champion AI-enabled ways of working to improve productivity, decision-making, and customer experience.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to strengthen digital claims capabilities.
- Support product launches, adoption campaigns, and ongoing optimization efforts.
- Share product management guidelines and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, skills, and experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, or a related role supporting enterprise digital products.
- Proven ability to take customer-facing digital products from initial discovery through launch and continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum practices, backlog management, and roadmap planning.
- Experience translating customer needs and business requirements into scalable product solutions.
- Track record of influencing and collaborating across cross-functional teams and collaborator groups.
- Strong communication skills, including experience conveying complex topics to technical and business audiences.
- Experience using customer insights, operational metrics, and data-driven analysis to guide product decisions.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar product lifecycle management tools.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed teams and external delivery partners.
- Experience applying AI-enabled tools and technologies within product development, delivery, or operational environments.
- Experience in insurance, claims management, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience supporting customer portals or enterprise-scale digital platforms.
- Familiarity with APIs, cloud technologies, identity management, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience supporting global product rollouts, localization, accessibility standards, or multi-region delivery.
- Exposure to agentic AI capabilities and emerging digital experience technologies.
- Product certifications such as CSPO, SAFe POPM, or similar credentials.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability and willingness to obtain an active Property and Casualty license within four months of hire.

Compensation and Incentives
- Salary range: USD 116,800 to 186,800 per year.
- Qualifies for participation in one of Aon’s annual incentive programs to earn a yearly discretionary bonus alongside base salary.
