Job Description

Penn Medicine is seeking a Mid or Senior Product Owner to manage multiple products across the product lifecycle. This hybrid role in Philadelphia partners with engineering and stakeholders to shape product vision, capture and prioritize requirements, and guide delivery through Scrum or other Agile methodologies.

Role Scope

The Product Owner is responsible for defining product strategy and roadmap, translating business needs into application direction, and creating requirements with high-level acceptance criteria. The role also supports execution by coordinating project delivery from identification through implementation, using Scrum or other Agile software development practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define product strategy and maintain a product roadmap.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to define applications in terms of business case and potential benefits, including high-level success and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize work in the product backlog based on perceived business value for consideration in release plans.
  • Prepare and present roadmap plans to stakeholders to support decision-making ahead of development team implementation.
  • Understand and report on development progress to key stakeholders.
  • Assist with coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects.
  • Perform duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization with other duties as assigned.
  • Provide mentorship, education, and guidance to team members.
  • Report on development progress to key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science (Required)
  • 3+ years Information Technology experience (Required)
  • 3+ years experience in project management, or project/program manager experience leading projects or initiatives (Required)
  • Healthcare experience (Preferred)
  • Experience supporting Academic Programs, higher education, or complex business operations (Plus)
  • 5+ years Information Technology experience (Required)
  • 5+ years experience in project management, or project/program manager experience leading projects or initiatives (Required)

Agile and SDLC

  • Scrum
  • Agile software development methodologies
  • SDLC

Level Alignment

This role is posted at Level #2 based on experience, with alignment to Mid-level or Senior level according to candidate qualifications.
