Job Description

At Cox Automotive's vAuto unit, the Senior Product Manager will own the Inventory Management Core initiatives across Provision and ProfitTime. This onsite role in Austin, TX centers on discovery, strategy, and adoption, emphasizing AI-driven workflows and data-informed decisions to optimize dealer pricing and merchandising. The position offers a salary range of USD 111,600 to 186,000 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree or higher with at least four years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Discovery and Product Strategy: lead discovery for the product area across Provision and ProfitTime, validating problems with dealer partners, performance managers, Sales, Support, and internal stakeholders; define personas, map pricing and merchandising workflows, formulate hypotheses, and test them using data, customer evidence, and competitive context to build a defendable point of view.
  • Roadmap and Backlog: create and maintain a forward-looking product roadmap in collaboration with product leadership; own Epics and Features end-to-end, including input for PI Planning and backlog prioritization; provide AI teams with clear, sequenced work to sustain momentum without premature commitments.
  • Spec-Driven Development: author Discovery Specs and co-author Delivery Specs with Engineering and Design; establish measurable acceptance criteria and clear scope, and maintain a durable product context repository outside Rally.
  • Connected Workflows and Innovation: consider how Provision and ProfitTime integrate with the broader Cox Automotive ecosystem; identify opportunities to reduce friction in the dealer appraisal-to-pricing-to-merchandising lifecycle and deliver differentiated capabilities that add dealer value.
  • AI-Fluent Product Work: regularly use AI tools (Claude Desktop, Copilot, and similar) for discovery synthesis, spec drafting, prototype generation, and context management; craft prompts as a core skill and build custom capabilities for product workflows with an eye toward AI-powered dealer solutions.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: ground recommendations in data from Amplitude, Tableau, Snowflake, and related sources; monitor post-launch performance and drive continuous improvement against defined KPIs.
  • Adoption and Go-to-Market: prioritize adoption metrics beyond deployment; define what complete adoption looks like, develop rollout plans with performance managers and support teams, and coordinate with Sales, Marketing, and training to ensure readiness; track outcomes against measurable criteria.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: act as a senior conduit among product, engineering, operations, and leadership; represent customer and dealer priorities to influence product and technology decisions; proactively surface status, risks, and wins with recommended paths when issues arise.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise as a product artifact workspace.
