Senior Product Manager
Job Description
Lead ML-powered personalization product strategy to improve how audiences discover content on HBO Max at scale.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end product strategy for ML-powered personalization and discovery, aligning opportunities to WBD strategic goals and improving engagement, retention, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for personalization systems, coordinating with engineering, data science, UX, and content teams to balance innovation, quality, and speed.
- Drive customer-centric product decisions using experimentation, user research, and behavioral data to design and optimize personalized experiences across surfaces.
- Manage ranking systems and feedback loops, understanding how user signals and content metadata flow through algorithms and shape outcomes.
- Partner with executives, engineering leaders, data teams, and content strategists to align roadmaps, communicate outcomes, and translate product vision into execution.
- Track trends in personalization, ML tooling, and competitors’ discovery experiences to inform roadmap priorities and strategic pivots.
- Define and improve KPIs connecting user value to business metrics (including engagement, diversity, and relevance) using experimentation and analytics.
- Lead go-to-market for personalization and recommendation capabilities, ensuring internal readiness, high-quality rollout, and learning-based iteration cycles.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, with significant time on ML-driven products or content discovery systems.
- Proven experience shipping consumer-facing personalization or recommendation systems at scale.
- Strong technical fluency to collaborate on ranking models, data pipelines, AI/ML evaluation, and other technical areas.
- Deep understanding of A/B testing, statistical analysis, and product experimentation frameworks.
- Systems thinker connecting algorithmic performance to customer experience treatments and business outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills across audiences, including executives and junior engineers.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in agile environments; familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred but not required).

- Lead development and enhancement of personalization services on HBO Max.
- Define product strategy, drive innovation, and deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Guide personalized and automated recommendations to stay aligned with industry trends and customer expectations.
- Support scaling to >100m customers and contribute to becoming a leading streaming company.
- Identify and quantify customer problems, determine solution approaches, and run A/B tests for feature improvements.
- Work with a team of Product Managers focused on Personalization, collaborating with Software Engineers and Data Scientists.
- Partner with Editorial and Marketing professionals and discuss regularly with company executives.

Compensation and Location
- Location: San Francisco, CA (onsite)
- Base pay range: USD 126,000 - 234,000 per year
