Senior Product Manager, OKE
Job Description
Own product strategy and execution for Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), spanning discovery through launch and ongoing adoption.
Responsibilities
- Partner with developers, platform engineers, application owners, and enterprise customers to understand Kubernetes adoption and operational challenges.
- Assess ecosystem trends, competing platforms, and migration needs to identify OKE product opportunities.
- Own the roadmap for a defined product area, aligning customer problems, priorities, and success criteria.
- Make product tradeoffs across customer value, technical complexity, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
- Design end-to-end experiences for cluster onboarding, configuration, node management, upgrades, scaling, and day-to-day operations.
- Support customers in maintaining reliable environments as workloads and Kubernetes requirements evolve.
- Improve workload deployment workflows and help customers integrate OKE into existing toolchains.
- Coordinate with teams delivering Terraform, Resource Manager, OCI DevOps, registries, and APIs to deliver consistent, repeatable workflows.
- Translate customer needs for availability, performance, security, observability, and cost into actionable product priorities.
- Work with engineering to resolve operational friction, compatibility concerns, and recurring support issues.
- Create requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria with engineering and design.
- Coordinate cross-service dependencies across compute, networking, storage, identity, and other OCI services; validate the full customer experience before release.
- Recruit design partners and early adopters, validate new capabilities, and coordinate release readiness.
- Collaborate with product marketing, solutions architects, documentation, and field teams on positioning, demos, enablement, and customer adoption.
- Define success metrics across onboarding completion, time to deploy workloads, successful upgrades, production adoption, and reduced operational effort.
- Use telemetry, customer feedback, and support trends to evaluate outcomes and iterate the roadmap.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including product management for cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, developer platforms, or enterprise software.
- Strong technical foundation in Kubernetes architecture, containers, cluster lifecycle management, and production cloud environments.
- Working knowledge of cloud networking, compute, storage, IAM, registries, and observability as they relate to containerized application operations.
- Experience building products for platform engineering or DevOps teams, including infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, or GitOps workflows.
- Proven ability to define product requirements, prioritize roadmaps, and deliver capabilities from discovery through launch and adoption.
- Strong customer research and analytical skills, connecting customer problems, product usage, and business outcomes.
- Clear written and verbal communication, sound technical judgment, and the ability to influence engineering and business stakeholders across teams.
