Space Force - Cloud Services Product Owner
Job Description
As a Product Owner for the Space Force SDA GMI Enterprise Services team, lead a Platform as a Service initiative to build and deploy ground satellite operational systems while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Articulate the product vision and roadmap to SDA and internal stakeholders.
- Align product goals with SDA customer needs and overall business objectives.
- Prioritize features and capabilities based on business value and satellite operations requirements.
- Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog; coordinate with the Scrum Master, Enterprise Services Development Lead, and other stakeholders.
- Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain backlog visibility and ensure understanding across the team.
- Refine backlog items through regular grooming sessions.
- Serve as the primary liaison between SDA and internal teams and the development group.
- Gather and analyze stakeholder feedback and requirements.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communications.
- Review and accept completed work from the development team.
- Ensure delivered features meet the definition of done and acceptance criteria.
- Validate that solutions meet customer and business needs.
- Make timely decisions on scope, priorities, and trade-offs.
- Balance technical constraints with business needs.
- Define release criteria and manage release planning.
- Actively participate in Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Scrum Master and development team.
- Provide continuous feedback and clarification throughout sprints.
Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Security: DoD Secret security clearance required at time of hire; U.S. citizenship is required; successful applicants will undergo a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Tools: Jira task tracking experience; Confluence content creation experience.
- Technical: Knowledge of DevSecOps platforms, tools, and processes (examples include GitLab); knowledge of AWS cloud technologies.

Salary
USD 112,924 - 125,275 per year
