Job Description
The Senior Data Product Manager role at Home Depot/THD focuses on defining, developing, and delivering enterprise data products across the full product lifecycle. The position is responsible for enabling data-driven decision-making and measurable business outcomes while partnering across teams in a modern software development environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end data product lifecycle, including product strategy, roadmap development, requirements definition, prioritization, delivery execution, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Define and deliver enterprise data products that support data-driven decision-making, operational efficiency, and measurable business outcomes.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive product documentation, including product vision and strategy, roadmaps, user stories, business and technical requirements, data definitions, acceptance criteria, process flows, data quality expectations, release documentation, and product operating models.
- Apply user empathy to understand end-user needs and select the fastest path to deliver value.
- Translate business goals and end-user needs into product strategy, and communicate direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
- Identify product goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value, and refine the product backlog based on learnings.
- Manage and groom the product backlog, making forward-looking decisions grounded in value delivery.
- Partner with Finance to understand financial needs and support creation of business plans for new opportunities.
- Monitor research and the competitive landscape to recommend solutions and help ensure products remain best in class.
- Ensure product direction balances user needs and business goals, including driving sales, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses using user research and testing.
- Document, review, and ensure quality and change control standards are met.
- Create, prioritize, and accept user stories, and incorporate them into release planning.
- Identify and assess pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements.
- Participate in standups, iteration planning, product demos, and retrospectives.
- Convey complex technical concepts to stakeholders using non-technical language.
- Collaborate across Engineering, UX, and other partners to drive value and address impediments.
- Act as an advocate for modern software development practices and for the end user by staying closely associated with the product.
- Support the broader product team by assessing progress, sharing lessons learned, and identifying next steps.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution by managing stakeholder expectations around product strategy, and provide education to requestors to support prioritization based on tangible benefits and/or user experience.
- Guide more junior team members on strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks.
- Participate in learning activities related to modern software design and development core practices (communities of practice).
- Contribute to talent acquisition, development, and retention activities supporting the team.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- 3-6 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working as a Product Manager in a modern software development-based enterprise environment.
- Experience with modern software development product management practices and agile methodologies, specifically the extreme programming (XP) principles of paired programming, test driven development, and continuous deployment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, fluid environment where priorities shift regularly.
- Ability to communicate with and influence functional and technical team members at all organizational levels.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative, cross-functional modern software design and development team.
- Proficiency in creating, prioritizing, and accepting user stories.
- Proficiency in conducting user research and testing to understand needs.
- Proficiency in identifying goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value.
- Proficiency in conducting competitive research and analysis.
- Experience guiding more junior team members through Product Management fundamentals in a professional setting.

Location and Work Details
- Location: Atlanta, GA (onsite)
- Travel requirements: Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
- Working conditions: Located in a comfortable indoor area; any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Physical requirements: Most of the time is spent sitting comfortably with frequent opportunity to move about; on rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
