Staff Product Manager, Vehicle Automation & Home Integration
Job Description
General Motors is seeking a Staff Product Manager for Vehicle Automation & Home Integration in Warren, MI with a hybrid work arrangement. This role guides the long-term vision and roadmap for a portfolio of connected experiences that bridge the vehicle, personal devices, and the home, shaping how these ecosystems collaborate over time.
Responsibilities
- Own and shape the extended vision and roadmap for a portfolio of connected automation and home integration experiences.
- Identify unmet customer needs through research, observation, trends, and benchmarking, translating insights into differentiated product strategy.
- Develop a clear perspective on how vehicle experiences should interact with external ecosystems, connected devices, and automation platforms.
- Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Program Management, and other Product Managers to define end-to-end experiences with clear, measurable, and actionable requirements.
- Lead prioritization and trade-off decisions across multiple product areas, balancing customer value, technical feasibility, schedule, cost, and business goals.
- Define product requirements for complex cross-system experiences involving software, hardware, connectivity, authentication, privacy, and controls.
- Influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams through effective communication, storytelling, and structured decision-making.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve the overall experience.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure product effectiveness and success.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 8+ years of experience delivering technology-powered digital products in roles such as product management, product marketing, or technology development.
- Proven success defining product vision and roadmaps for complex software and/or hardware-enabled experiences.
- Ability to think holistically about end-to-end journeys rather than isolated features.
- Experience defining customer-facing software products that connect across platforms, services, or ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to balance tradeoffs between consumer expectations, business objectives, and technical constraints.
- Expertise in solving complex challenges using data-informed decision-making and risk assessment.
- Strong writing skills with the capacity to blend vision, strategy, and technical detail into a cohesive narrative.
- Proven ability to craft clear, high-quality product requirements and drive alignment from concept through delivery.
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities to articulate complex concepts across stakeholders.

Compensation
- Salary range: $134,700 to $245,000 annually; actual base salary offered will depend on position-related factors.
- Bonus potential: An incentive pay program based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
Company Vehicle
- Eligible for a company vehicle evaluation program after successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, granting assignment of a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate.
- Program participants must purchase or lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years, subject to a limited number of exceptions.
