Motorola Solutions is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead its Electronic Warfare (EW) & Sensing Solutions product portfolio. In this hybrid role in Irvine, CA, you will connect tactical mission needs to engineering execution, while owning technical requirements, hardware NPI, and the user experience for sensor products like the FASST Handheld and LSNRS. You will also help drive adoption and revenue growth by translating customer and field feedback into actionable priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level tactical EW mission capabilities into software user stories and hardware/sensor configurations.
  • Own technical requirements and drive physical hardware New Product Introduction (NPI) cycles while validating the end-to-end user experience for the FASST and LSNRS portfolios.
  • Optimize operational interfaces and dedicated hardware platforms for combat and emergency responders operating in high-stress situations.
  • Define how the transceiver operates for edge node operations.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to align execution with product outcomes.
  • Manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cadences for specialized EW software features, firmware builds, and technical updates using Agile/Scrum.
  • Analyze customer feature requests, evaluate engineering timelines, and set scope boundaries to balance schedule constraints with field expectations.
  • Oversee the full technical lifecycle and physical hardware NPI of FASST and LSNRS, from concept and prototype validation through manufacturing coordination and regulatory clearance, then development, operational test and evaluation, deployment, and long-term sustainment.
  • Drive product adoption by partnering with sales to generate interest and revenue growth.
  • Measure and monitor product performance, define continuous software refinement cycles to address user experience debt and newly discovered threat vectors, and capture customer and field feedback for updates.
  • Bridge R&D, engineering, operations, and go-to-market teams to align delivery with business strategy, target BOM costs, and timelines.
  • Partner with Sales, Business Development, and Applications Engineering to turn complex operator feedback, program office specifications, and competitive intelligence into feature priorities.
  • Support defense integrators and system engineers in validating plug-and-play integrations of Silvus EW/Sensing technologies into terrestrial, aerial, and maritime platforms.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time to support field testing, customer integrations, and customer meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, RF Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of technical product management or systems engineering experience in defense, aerospace, or wireless communications.
  • Strong working knowledge of wireless communications, RF systems, signal processing, software-defined radios (SDRs), mesh networking, or electromagnetic spectrum operations.
  • Ability to convert high-level military or tactical use cases into clear, structured technical requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional engineering, operations, and sales teams without direct authority while meeting release dates.
  • Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug test.
