Technical Product Owner - eCommerce

3M is seeking a Technical Product Owner to drive and deliver high-impact eCommerce capabilities with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate company and customer goals into product direction and connect business leaders, stakeholders, and development teams to align on product vision and business strategy.
• Own the product roadmap and maintain a prioritized backlog tied to business goals and technical strategy.
• Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria; partner with business leaders to confirm roadmap coverage of required business outcomes.
• Prioritize based on business value and urgency; make trade-off decisions and define objectives and success metrics.
• Use OKRs to guide prioritization and structure work into actionable steps across discovery, design, development, and delivery.
• Build deep understanding of workflows, pain points, and desired outcomes to represent customer and stakeholder needs.
• Provide direction to IT teams and act as a trusted partner throughout the product lifecycle.
• Manage cross-team dependencies and maintain transparent, audience-tailored communication to support continuous improvement.
• Lead delivery and validation activities by guiding backlog refinement, planning sessions, and confirmation that completed work meets quality and business expectations.
• Develop and execute change management and enablement plans for new system implementations and process improvements.
• Own and refine the product backlog for the core commerce engineering team by turning business goals into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and API requirements.
• Balance business feature requests with technical modernization, cloud infrastructure upgrades, and technical debt reduction.
• Collaborate with enterprise and solution architects to define and validate end-to-end integration patterns between the commerce platform (for example, SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris or a comparable composable/enterprise platform) and custom microservices and frontend applications.
• Evaluate technical feasibility of functional requirements with architects and lead engineers; leverage platform knowledge to create precise technical acceptance criteria.
• Partner daily with tech leads, software engineers, QA, and Scrum Masters during Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Refinement, Daily Standups, Demos).
• Define Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) for functional outcomes and technical performance benchmarks.
• Support end-to-end acceptance testing and API schema verification to validate technical implementations prior to production releases.
• Work with Business Product Managers, Sales Operations, and Supply Chain to align technical debt remediation with ongoing feature delivery and communicate rollout risks, constraints, and architectural trade-offs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business or Technology (completed and verified prior to start).
• Five (5) years of experience as a Technical Product Owner, Product Manager, or Solution Architect, or an equivalent combination of product management and technical experience in private industry, public sector, government, or military environments.
